Camo
By Sarah Vining
Sitka, Real Tree, Mossy Oak. Camouflage for sportsmen folk.
Don’t matter if you hunt or fish, put on that camo as you wish.
But I’m telling you this, don’t come unglued.
Camo aint a color. Its an attitude! A philosophy. A feeling.
Just matters that you find it appealing.
Dressed in camo where we can be viewed,
or in the woods enjoying solitude.
Know you ain’t invisible when you’re in town.
Or your own expectations are gonna let you down.
Walking through Cabelas I see all sorts of camoed fellas.
Tall ones, short ones, bucks and does.
Hens and Toms - young Jakes and Jennies in tow.
Clothes brand-spankin new or in a state of shreds,
thats where we go to be seen in our camo threads.
Dressed in camo where we can be viewed,
or in the woods enjoying solitude,
Don’t try to be hiding when you’re in town.
I know for certain you will be found around.
Our heros serve on land and seas.
Very stealthy in their fatigues.
Troops train to battle for our liberty.
Away or at home combatting uncivility.
Say a prayer and offer thanks to every member of the ranks.
And while I’m riding on my high horse, here’s another realization:
camo ain’t pink in any situation.
She’s looking so cute, even I agree!
But unless she’s up in a spring cherry tree,
we can spot her right where she be.
A flock of flamingos might be a good disguise,
That’s just plain silly, she’s way too wise.
Pink camo is fun and so is she.
She’s looking so cute, looking at me.

Don’t matter if you hunt or fish, put on that camo as you wish.
But I’m telling you this, don’t come unglued.
Camo aint a color. Its an attitude!
