700 Miles to Tennessee
By Pam L. Reed
700 miles to Tennessee,
Just the open road, you and me.
Time to just be carefree.
You’re “the me” I use to be!
A gift from you for Mother’s Day
Making today our “someday!”
Leaving all my worries and cares behind
Time to reset, time to unwind
No wrinkles, stress lines to find
My age has been on rewind.
Putting my life on hold
Today I’m young, not old.
I’m adventurous, carefree and bold.
A few laughs across the miles,
A few songs, a few smiles.
“Would You Ever?” “Have you Ever?”
“Would You Rather?”
Me? No not ever!
(Refrain)
I never had so much fun with you,
Loving this time with my Baby Boo
I never want this trip to end
I love you my child, my forever friend.
Getting’ real full on BBQ’s,
Running’ outta time,
So much to do!
Soakin’ up this time with you,
Loving this time with you, my Baby Boo.
Kickin it up in the street,
In our jeans; boots on our feet,
Singing to a country song,
Gotta hurry up, ‘cause we don’t have long.
Getting in a shot or two,
Loving this time with you, my Baby Boo!
Country music hall of fame
Every face, every name.
Puts us ordinary folks to shame.
(Refrain)
I never had so much time with you,
Loving this time with my Baby Boo
I never want this trip to end
I love you my child, my forever friend.
Let’s go ride a bull,
More Southern food;
Getting full.
I can’t tell you what it’s meant,
All this time with you I spent.
The time has come, trip must end.
I will always remember it my child, my forever friend!
