It feels like it was only moments ago
That you were a wide eyed little baby;
Staring into my eyes, snuggled in my arms
Both of us instinctively knew you were safe

One minute your babies rely on you for everything
Months pass; suddenly they’re walking on their own
You blink and they’re running off with friends
Then before you know it they’re all grown up

This life we live can be so unpredictable
You never know how one decision made
Can alter our lives forever more
So hug your babies tight; just hold them…

We try to guide our children the best we can
Show them how to love and be good people
We teach them to work hard to be successful
Showcase how to make family time important

There comes a point where we have to set them free
Allow them to make their own decisions
It’s a happy and proud time to see their growth
And hard cuz we can’t protect them like we used to

This life we live can be so unpredictable
You never know how one decision made
Can alter our lives forever more
So hug your babies tight; just hold them…

I hope my babies always can feel my love
I pray they stay safe in all they choose to do
I want them to never forget they have family
And they can accomplish whatever they want

It doesn’t make it any easier to let them go
I have to keep my faith that they will be fine
But no matter how old they get;
They’ll always be our babies so just hold them…just hold them…..
