Sandy was having a bad day
Jayney’s was going the same
The boss just told them
They had to stay when
They were trying to get away
For the weekend
This time Sandy said to
The boss man why
Do you want us to stay
When we’re trying to
Get away for the weekend
He said I got the power
I pay you by the hour
There’s things I want you to do
Because I’m the boss man
I’m not asking, I’m telling you
Right to the end
If I wanted to I could tell you
To work the whole weekend
Sandy looked at Jayney and said
You know what I’m thinking
Jayney said I got your drift
We ain’t working another shift
And she looked at the boss man
And she said you got no reason to
Keep us working the way you do
We got plans to get away
For the weekend
The boss he looked at his watch
And said you’re risking a lot you see
You’re both working for me and I’m
Telling you you’re working through
Sandy looked at Jayney and said
Do you think we should tell him
He can keep his jobs and pay us what
He’s owing ‘cos we’re leaving
We’re going away for the weekend
The boss said what makes you
Think you can talk to me the way you do
And quit your jobs when I own you
And can bring you down so you never
Ever work again in this town
And that would be the end

Now get this inside your head we
Can do what we want to do and
we’re telling you we’re through and we
don’t need your goddam work and we
can call you a jerk and tell you see
we’re getting away for the weekend
‘cos yesterday we won the
Goddam lottery.
The boss said what makes you
Think you can talk to me the way you do
And quit your jobs when I own you
And can bring you down so you never
Ever work again in this town
