The long climb

THE LONG CLIMB
Intro
Last night mi dream…
Something strange, something deep.
Mi start climbing…
But mi never know what mi was climbing.
Verse 1
Mi see tall trees reaching way up high,
Branches stretching somewhere past the sky.
So mi grab one limb and begin to climb,
One step at a time, taking all mi time.
The higher mi go, the harder it get,
Sweat on mi face and my hands getting wet.
Looking up, but the top can't show,
Still something inside saying, “Keep on, go.”
Pre-Chorus
Mi legs get tired, mi breathing get slow,
But something inna me say, “You can't turn back now.”
Every knot, every twist, every step that I made,
Was another lesson in the climb I had to face.
Chorus
Then mi look again—
And the trees weren't trees.
Mi was climbing through the dreadlocks
Of a giant Rasta man standing over me.
Tall like a mountain, high as the sky,
Smoke drifting around him as he passed me by.
And mi wonder, “How long have I been climbing?”
How long have I been trying to reach the other side?
Verse 2
His locks were like roots, running down through the earth,
Thick like branches, but they carried their own worth.
Every dread I held was a road of its own,
Every twist and turn took me further from home.
Then the smoke rolled gently across the night,
Like a Marley rhythm floating through the light.
Not rushing, just moving, slow and steady,
Like the climb was preparing me to be ready.
Bridge
Maybe the height wasn't about getting there,
Maybe the climb was teaching me how to care.
Every time I slipped, I had to hold on tight,
Every dark little branch led me toward the light.
The top kept moving, but I kept my grip,
Sometimes life's journey feels just like this.
You think you're climbing toward something you know,
Then you look around and realize how far you've grown.
Final Chorus
Mi look down and the ground seem small,
So many steps behind me, I could barely see them all.
Those trees were dreadlocks, that man was tall,
And somehow mi had climbed through it all.
Long climb, hard climb, but mi never let go,
Every twist in the road had something to show.
Maybe I wasn't climbing to reach the sky—
Maybe I was learning how to rise.
Outro
When morning came, mi opened mi eyes,
Still feeling the climb underneath the sunrise.
Dream or message, mi don't know why…
But I remember those dreadlocks reaching high.
And I remember…
I kept climbing.
