The fledglings have left the nest,
It's better to move on,
Than live in the past with regrets,
You said you were home,
But I knew better than that,
You could never stay and face the aftermath,
My heart found equanimity in this animosity,
I always loved your generosity,
This realization has me aspiring to dare to dream.

Left us marred, but now has been restored,
The sight of the stars, we gasp,
And the climate change has petered away,
Nature can breathe at last,

Gives us a better chance,
To make better use of our smarts,
