LYRIC FOR SALE

By Richard M Moss MD

A word found the myths of time,
Clouds hovered in the labyrinth,
Leave all notions of yesterday,
Is hope a poem that confirms?

Dance with praise for the day,
A spirit confirms the new birth.
Laughter is the song of dawn,
A flower rises from the earth.

Wounds have found my skin,
Memories haunt the broken palace.
Is it too late to recall the laughter?
Despair shattered your necklace.

A shadow erased the light,
I will pray at your temple.
Is wine the answer to mystery?
In fear I tremble.

Dance with praise for the day,
A spirit confirms the new birth.
Laughter is the song of dawn,
A flower rises from the earth.

I cannot hide the scars,
The sun did not bless me with a kiss.
I do not hesitate before your glory,
Yet, here, I dwell in the abyss.

Lean heavy into the wind,
The canvas has been torn.
May I carry your hymn of glory?
To bear witness, I have sworn.

Dance with praise for the day,
A spirit confirms the new birth.
Laughter is the song of dawn,
A flower rises from the earth.

If I trust in your song,
Can the righteous be wrong?
The wicked know the truth,
Betray not your youth.

Redeem me in my sin,
The rivers will not sweep me.
He hath put a new song in my mouth,
Renew the day that I may see.

Dance with praise for the day,
A spirit confirms the new birth.
Laughter is the song of dawn,
A flower rises from the earth.
