In my head it’s a perfect little picture
Our family all living happily ever after
But life isn’t as simple as the snapshot
Reality is the truth slapping you awake

The day to day of dealing with people;
It’s not easy to handle all that comes my way
I’m supposed to know what to do to fix it
I’m expected to make everything all better

Used to be so optimistic about it all
I was calm, cool and confident; so happy…
Now I’m just drained and feeling lifeless
The girl I was then is no more….she’s gone…

Home doesn’t feel safe to me anymore
It makes me want to run and hide away
I hate that I am even feeling like this;
It’s not who I want to be; it’s not who I am

It’s like I have a target on my back
Everyone uses me to dump on so they feel better
No one sees me drowning in the sea all alone
In my head I know it’s not personal but it still hurts

This whole situation is changing who I am
It’s made me feel so empty inside; so lonely From outside it looks like I have ice in my veins
I don’t want to live this way anymore

If I’m going to survive I have to figure it out
I need home to be serenity for myself
I work too hard to not be able to feel safe
The constant chaos that fills my soul is too much

The girl I was will never find her way back

But I need her to return so I can find my sanity
