I appear,
then disappear
among the days gone by.

I miss
my old friends.

I wish that day
would never end,
that an unlit cigarette
would burn a little slower.

I wish my soul
could rise,
I wish my mother
could love me

just the way I am.

But my verses
are far from ordinary,
I want them to make
everyone fall silent,
at least for a moment.

Whatever may happen,
I never lived beneath a bridge,
but I won't pretend
that everything was fine.

I only wish
that everything would work out for me,
that time would stop,
with the wind left in my hands,
leaving only
what I once hoped for most.

And the dust would fall
from the old album,
and those moments would return —
the moments of our closeness.
