LYRIC FOR SALE

By Jon McKay

Start

We don't need to
Introduce ourselves
We are
Everywhere

All we do
Is place adds'
We don't recognise

In the way
We walk
In the way
We talk
In the way we
Have to leave

To be understood
To justify
Why

We stand
Alone on piers
With the water
That dissolves
The pillars of
Our compress

Perhaps
Piers are our
Ocean Liner
That goes
No where
Upon request

In all that
Founders in us
Is to be loved
As advertised

Middle

We have listed from
Side to side
We have existed
Only to provide

A sense that
The lucky ones
Are happy to describe

In their way
We talk
In their way
We walk
In their way
So we have to leave

To be mis-understood
To clarify
Why

We stand
Alone on piers
With the laughter
That surrounds
The lights of
Our distress

Perhaps piers
Are our
Ocean liner
That goes
No where
Without request

In all that
Abounds in us
Is to be loved
As advertised

Ending

But we
Remember this

We look broken
But our back
Is a strong keel

But we
Remember this

We find tokens
The lucky don't
As we look down

But we
Remember this

We don't tread in
Second time round
What's upon the ground

Our only difference
Is we were
Born and belong
Together this way

And wait for
Someone to apply
As advertised

Just

As advertised

Final

We don't need to
Introduce ourselves
We are
Everywhere

All we do
Is place adds'
We don't recognise
