LYRIC FOR SALE

For whatever reason seems to be,
I was chosen to get to know grief
over the course of this lifetime…..
& thats alright, I’m doin’ just fine.
I guess it’s that I recognize
a wound in someone’s being,
deep down,
and it recognizes mine.
& for that reason that life brought me here,
I let it consume me, n’ I have no fear,
it’ll spit me out-
heavy as a water droplet,
hanging from the corner of
a thirsty man’s mouth….
Cause, see;
The far reaches of grief’s bruise
do not discourage me;
In fact, I find its moreofa muse-
Its made my happiness deeper,
N’ flowers smell sweeter….
Grief makes me stare at the setting sun,
& crack my mouth wide open, standin’ there,
smile’n at the ocean.
It’ll make me stay longer than some,
Even if I know its done.
& when love comes,
It’ll make me jump, though, I wanna run.
There’s no hidin’ from;
Grief,
its a funny one.
