When I See You
By BRIX
I See You
I see you and wonder if you see me.
I try to catch your eye to see if there is still a glimmer.
Are we where we are meant to be?
The choices we have made – our hopes a little dimmer.
My heart jumps and my breath is held.
When I see your familiar silhouette.
To open the door to where my thoughts of you have dwelled.
How I wish I could change things since we met.
I see you smile and wonder if you are happy and content.
It appears you have your family again.
Are you getting all you deserve or do you need to vent.
Do you get what I want for you, or do you abstain?
Am I crazy for still hoping?
Do you have all you’ve ever wanted?
Day to day I feel as I am just coping.
My thoughts and dreams are still haunted.
Our smiles seen on the outside.
Days come and days go.
But only you and I know what’s felt inside.
What is felt can never show.
Even after months with no contact.
I see you and begin to think.
How much longer can I continue this act.
Do we still have that undeniable link?
Will anything ever evolve from what we are now?
Will it continue to be just “hi, how are you.”
Or someday, what we want, feel and need be allowed.
Until I know what is real and you give me a clue.
My arms are not empty, but my heart doesn’t feel.
I too am tired of being alone.
But what I have now isn’t real
The one who has my heart has known.
I wish I could feel you reach for me to know you are still there.
Until then, I will continue to live this life not alone but still lonely and wanting more.
I wish we were able to be to each other what we both need. This is my prayer.
No one knows what God has instore.
