Manhunt

By Raymond Livingston
This constant struggle I’m under gets harder every day,
Trouble rolls downhill ‘cause nothing goes their way.
Another fight, another crisis I start to juggle,
Past the point where a sane mind can even struggle.
A crack in the brain, and fear’s the refrain,
I’m scared as hell for what’s next in this decade.
We stopped paying the toll while losing control,
Turned lazy and crazy—sold out our souls.

Welcome to the city of manhunt,
Where dreams get jumped and dumped out front.
A wasteland lit by neon lust,
Money’s king, but love’s just dust.
Fake smiles, fake shows, and a fake salvation—
We’re rotting in our own damn creation.

Kids raised on screens, trained by scenes,
Where violence sells and kindness gets cleaned.
We built batteries that drain our beliefs,
Enemies born from our own family griefs.
No legacies left, just televised pain,
Plastic idols driving us insane.
We used to dream, now we just scheme,
Jealous hearts tearing apart the team.

Welcome to the city of manhunt,
Where dreams get jumped and dumped out front.
A wasteland lit by neon lust,
Money’s king, but love’s just dust.
Fake smiles, fake shows, and a fake salvation—
We’re rotting in our own damn creation.

We gave away greatness for a triple dose of junk,
Turned our bloodline into addicts and punks.
Vegas lights blind while the people decay,
Can’t even breathe without bills to pay.
I don’t trust the streets, don’t trust the creeps,
They cheat the weak while the devil sleeps.
My daughters won’t walk this cursed ground,
‘Cause this city’s the place where hope drowned.

Dazed and confused, medicated youth,
Swallowed truths through a pixel-proof booth.
Addicted to views, opinions reused,
A broken generation the system abused.

City of manhunt — we sold our fate,
To a digital god we helped create.
No love, no grace, no second chance,
Just the sound of greed when the lost ones dance.
The lights still shine, but the hearts don’t pump —
Welcome home, to the city of slump.
