Blue Knights
By Thomas B. Heffner
(Verse 1)
Like true heroes riding out of the Old West,
With blazing gold shields pinned upon their chests.
Dave and Doug, law enforcement officers standing proud and tall,
Always ready to offer their service to one and all.
To our rescue they came when we were stranded,
Divinely answering our prayers - as if heavenly angels had just landed.
With cordial demeanors and warm, welcoming smiles,
Dave and Doug were the only help available within miles.
They jumped right in with no hesitation,
These Blue Knights are men of honor and dedication.
(Chorus)
Blue Knights...like Knights of old, they defend those in need,
Blue Knights...constantly performing incredible deeds.
Blue Knights...men of courage, honor, and self-sacrifice,
Blue Knights...keeping citizens safe as they pay the ultimate price.
Blue Knights...the first defense against criminals and evil,
Blue Knights...serving the law and bringing justice to the people.
Blue Knights...always fighting the good fight,
Blue Knights...using their might to defend the weak and all that is right.
(Verse 2)
Dave and Doug worked hard to get us on the road again,
Our respect and pride increased for these fine men.
They asked for nothing for their service and kind deed,
Answering the call when others were in desperate need.
Like knights from legend, Dave and Doug shined with virtue and integrity,
They represent all that is good and right in humanity.
Blue Knights who protect the people and our land,
Against injustice and crime, they will always take a stand.
(Bridge)
Through the dark of night - and the light of day,
The Blue Knights stand on the line so others can live safe and free each day.
When the call comes in - the Blue Knights answer without fear,
Always standing for the people they've sworn to serve year after year.
They're not looking for glory - not looking for fame,
But looking to serve their duty with honor, and the badge they proudly claim.
(Verse 3)
So remember to treat all law enforcement with honor and respect,
For they are simply doing their job to serve and protect.
They are men and women just like me and you,
Appreciation and praise for them is long overdue.
They're on the streets doing a dangerous and difficult job,
Protecting us from criminals and violent mobs.
Dave and Doug are only two of these honorable men,
Our thanks to them - and all the Blue Knights of law enforcement - once again.
(Final Chorus - Big/Anthem Delivery)
Blue Knights...like Knights of old, they defend those in need,
Blue Knights...constantly performing incredible deeds.
Blue Knights...men of courage, honor, and self-sacrifice,
Blue Knights...keeping citizens safe as they pay the ultimate price.
Blue Knights...the first defense against criminals and evil,
Blue Knights...serving the law and bringing justice to the people.
Blue Knights...always fighting the good fight,
Blue Knights...using their might to defend the weak and all that is right.
(Outro - Softer / Emotional Resolve)
May God bless these Blue Knights and keep them safe each and every day,
Always remember to treat them with respect...and you will never suffer dismay.
