LYRIC FOR SALE

By Brian Tarr

It’s been fun while it lasted
I wouldn’t change anything that’s happened
I might forget some of these moments
But I’ll have you to retell me the experience
Add extra details wherever you can
Make it sound exciting back to where we began

Many faces have come and gone throughout my life
I know their names are scattered somewhere in my mind
You tell me there’s a difference but you all look the same
Everyone’s playing in the dark, too embarrassed and ashamed
But I’ll reach out to you whenever I can
And we can go back to where we began

Time flies when you’re not counting the minutes
I’ve lost track of what I’ve been doing the last few years
Not that I’ve been doing nothing memorable
But the days and nights intertwine and just become a blur

It’s been fun while it lasted
I wouldn’t change anything that’s happened
I might forget some of these moments
But I’ll have you to retell me the experience
Add extra details wherever you can
And we can go back to where we began

It may not make sense but I hope you’ll understand
Whenever we go back to where we began
