Every Monday
I run for the early train
And I miss it
Well I must say
My efforts seem to be in vain
Yet I'm complicit

As I stand in line
And I wait in the queue
Thoughts fill my mind
And here are a few

I should have joined a boy band
Or gone to live in toyland
I should have studied hard to be a doctor
Or trained to be an actor
I've always wanted to be a farmer
Riding round on my tractor
But without warning and so suddenly
I'm back in the room just being me

Ploughing through the work week
Seems so very slow
On auto pilot
Making plans for the weekend
But still so long to go
Until we riot

Promotions pass me by
For things I don't seek
I'm not ready to say goodbye
To the secrets I keep

I know living for the weekend
Will not always suffice
I'm gonna start over again
And take my advice

Because without warning it occurred to me
I'm back in the room with whoever I want to be
