LYRIC FOR SALE

By Edward Kenny

I’m looking down at God’s creation,
All nestled here within my arms,
I’d give my life, no hesitation
Before an eyelash something harms.

He is the source of my ambition,
He is the joy that fills my days,
I’ll love him without a condition,
Express it in so many ways.

And no scientist can explain to me (CHORUS)
How in dark diamond eyes that smiled
All the universe was revealed to me
There in the face of my grandchild.

There is a future of elation,
Also, the certainty of tears,
But, in every situation
There lies the meaning of these years.

All I can do is give love to him
And to my son and to his wife,
Now, as we connect a brand-new limb
Upon the tree that is our life.

And no scientist can explain to me (CHORUS)
How in dark diamond eyes that smiled
All the universe was revealed to me
There in the face of my grandchild.
