I write for the love of the game. I'd like to believe that if you find "it", it will find you too. And even if it doesn't, at least you had fun playing.
Lyrics are like a sister. You ride their coat tails, learning about the world and yourself as you go. They are there for your birthdays, your break ups, your big moments. You reminisce about people and places and silly fads. They know your moods and secrets. They've heard your shower voice and seen your ugliest cry.
I love that lyrics can tell a story or be nonsensical and abstract. I love that they bring people together, a shared experience. It moves me when stadiums full of people sing the words that someone wrote. There are not many things in life that are like that.
I don't play or sing, but I've loved music for as long as I can remember. I grew up listening to Oldies, Musicals, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Country, Hair Bands, Metal, Grunge, Alternative, Rap, Hip Hop, Pop, Punk, Reggae. I wake up every day with something different playing on the internal jukebox. My writing seems to be just as varied.
To be a part of something that others are moved by, big or small, would be meaningful to me - that's why I'm here.
I write for the love of the game.
