Love of all music; judgement of none

Initial success or total failure
Leaving it all in the hands of your savior
Always full send with everything
Full of life and love and no envying
The happiness you brought outweighs all the pain
So I’ll smile through the tears again and again
Nothing could have prepared me for the shock that day
Believing you were invincible and could never go away
Nobody understood the lives you affected
Until we were all alone and completely unprotected
We all try to go on because it’s what we should do
But we will never be whole as a part of us died with you
Initial success or total failure
Leaving it all in the hands of your savior
Always full send with everything
Full of life and love and no envying
The happiness you brought outweighs all the pain
So I’ll smile through the tears again and again
Don’t give me your judgments about my pain
You don’t know what I’m going through so please just refrain
“In a better place and you have to be strong”
Take your opinion and go suck a dong
I remember all the ornery ass things that you did
Trying to stay positive because IT IS WHAT IT IS
Initial success or total failure
Leaving it all in the hands of your savior
Always full send with everything
Full of life and love and no envying
The happiness you brought outweighs all the pain
So I’ll smile through the tears again and again

Grew up in this small town - not a lot to pass the time
Four wheelin’— drinkin in the woods, but never no real crime
What my little town lacked in action was made up for in support
Loyalty and honesty no, they never came up short
Morals and values were always held way up high
Helping hand to count on was never in short supply
Takes a village, yeah you sure are right about that,
This village really needs to pull its head out of its ass
A town full of skeletons, strung out on pills and meth
An’ empty shells of people -thinkin’ they’re better than the rest
Kids are dealing drugs - runnin’ round making their own rules
Adults judging from their high horse - hopin’ that everybody lose
It’s no longer the honest and supportive hometown that I grew up in
Without the right last name, loyalty and love have come to an end
Came back to raise my family where everybody knows your name
Everywhere I looked though, seems things just were not the same
The closeness and sense of community are no longer the case
Appears as if betrayal and gossip have fully taken their place
Now its gotta be the cool kids club depending on your name
No one to count and survival means play by their rules and game
Takes a village, yeah you sure are right about that,
This village really needs to pull its head out of its ass
A town full of skeletons, strung out on pills and meth
An’ empty shells of people -thinkin’ they’re better than the rest
Kids are dealing drugs - runnin’ round making their own rules
Adults judging from their high horse - hopin’ that everybody lose
It’s no longer the honest and supportive hometown that I grew up in
Without the right last name, loyalty and love have come to an end
What we need to get back to are those real and honest times
The ones people sing about - just living simple happy lives
Where people weren’t so selfish and they stood up for what was right
‘Stead of makin’ themselves look better by darkenin’ another’s light
Let’s stop our lives where we are right now take a minute to reflect
Is this the life you want to remember living when lying on your death bed
If you can’t be proud of who you are - treating everyone with class
Then you are part of the problem and need to get your head out of your ass.

With your first breath you took mine away
I knew my life would never be the same
My world is better now that you’re here
Not keeping you safe is my biggest fear
So many mountains for you to move
So much in this world for you to improve
Tears in my eyes I watch your sweet face
Completely at peace and so full of grace
You take your first steps and say your first words
We read books every night, snuggle and color pictures
I take you to dance and dry every tear
To show you I love you-will always be here
Fishing, playing dolls, and singing songs
Dress up and chasing butterflies, we did it all
I cherish every single memory I had with you
Always so proud of everything you do
With your first breath you took mine away
I knew my life would never be the same
My world is better now that you’re here
Not keeping you safe is my biggest fear
So many mountains for you to move
So much in this world for you to improve
Tears in my eyes I watch your sweet face
Completely at peace and so full of grace
High school comes and high school goes
Lots of yelling and screaming-your anger grows
I just want what is best for you I just want you safe
Happy and healthy so you can find your place
Make better choices-please make better friends
Stop with the pills and drugs before it all ends
Lying awake at night waiting for the phone call
Praying and bargaining and taking the fault
With your last breath you took mine away
I knew my life would never be the same
My world is unbearable since you’re not here
I couldn’t keep you safe; it was my biggest fear
No more mountains to move
No more time to improve
Tears in my eyes I’ll miss your sweet face
You’re finally at peace I pray for His grace
