(Verse 1)
The sky was dressed in black, as I remember,
That fateful twenty-fourth night of November,
The tragic year was nineteen ninety one,
My drivetime radio was babbling on,
When breaking news exploded in my head,
The Great Pretender‘s passed away, they said.

(Verse 2)
Flamboyant style, he captured every show,
The Queen of Hearts or the King of Rock and Roll,
He played that game of fantasy so well,
As if he weaved a kind of magic spell,
Although he had it all, still not enough,
That crazy little thing we need called love.

(Chorus)
But HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the gems he left behind,
HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the music of our minds.
His legacy will never lose its sparkle or grow old,
HE'LL BE LOVED FOREVER,
In our hearts and in our souls.

(Bridge)
Someday, I hope to ramble round the streets of Zanzibar,
Down the alleyways of Stone Town, to the birthplace of a Star.
Whose journey was traumatic, but he wanted to break free,
Because that was the only way he could reach his destiny.

(Chorus repeat)
Now HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the gems he left behind,
HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the music of our minds.
His legacy will never lose its sparkle or grow old,
HE'LL BE LOVED FOREVER,
In our hearts and in our souls.

(Final chorus)
Yes HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the gems he left behind,
HE WILL LIVE FOREVER,
In the music of our minds.
His legacy will never lose its sparkle or grow old,
HE'LL BE LOVED FOREVER,
In our hearts and in our souls.

About Me

Bio

GEORGINA HILTON (Hilton Music UK) has been songwriting since she was eight (many years ago!!), and, although following a demanding career path into the legal profession, her first love has always been creative writing. She is not a musician, nor, by any stretch of the imagination, a singer (except in her head!), but her co-writes with several composers scored several publishing contracts in UK and USA, and subsequently some releases in the 1990's.
She became increasingly disillusioned with the business, so she developed other interests, but, after a
eak of over ten years, her enthusiasm was re-kindled 'out of the blue' by Florida record producer Will Baskin (‘Chil Wil’), who had ambitious plans for releasing some of her past songs. Tragically, Wil became ill and passed away just before his projects would have come to fruition. Having re-entered the arena, however, Georgina resumed songwriting, and formed 'Hilton Music UK' and 'Hilton Music Publishing'

CV/History

As well as her ‘solo’ work, Georgina has had the privilege to co-write with many talented songwriters. French composer Eric Miller commissioned Georgina to pen the lyrics for ‘Heart’, released by rising star Madi Lee (USA), in 2015, as her first original song (157,772 views on YouTube).
A further, challenging, assignment in 2016, was to co-write for an American / French project (‘La Joie De Vivre (The Joy Of Life) duo featuring Enrique Saldivar and Marc Kesler.
Georgina is a member of PRS / MCPS (UK) (CAE/IPI 685882483) co-writing with composers in UK, Germany, France, Canada and USA.
