What You'd Call Weak:

Verse 1:
From the outside,
Looking in,
You may judge by the shape of,
My footprints,
Those who've walked know print’s,
Coverings,
Own intense chapters,
Hidden within.

Verse 2:
I've swam the black,
Ocean high,
Lost sight of the shore,
Then learned to fly,
Overcome wounds cut,
Deep inside,
In the process strength,
Intensified.

Chorus:
For the one so sheltered,
Judging me,
Wouldn't understand how,
Strong I've been,
Still here breathing with,
New footprints,
What you'd call weak was,
Me fighting.

I've found the stars in the dull black night,
Faced my fears some more than twice,
Still silently grieving from pain you see,
What you'd call weak was me fighting.

Verse 3:
Can't understand how,
Could you think,
You know so damn much when,
Didn't sink,
True strength is fought,
Experience,
So before you judge you,
First must live.

Chorus:
For the one so sheltered,
Judging me,
Wouldn't understand how,
Strong I've been,
Still here breathing with,
New footprints,
What you'd call weak was,
Me fighting.

I've found the stars in the dull black night,
Faced my fears some more than twice,
Still silently grieving from pain you see,
What you'd call weak was me fighting.

Bridge:
I could have ended it all,
The pain too unbearable,
But I fought….

Chorus:
For the one so sheltered,
Judging me,
Wouldn't understand how,
Strong I've been,
Still here breathing with,
New footprints,
What you'd call weak was,
Me fighting.

I've found the stars in the dull black night,
Faced my fears some more than twice,
Still silently grieving from pain you see,

What You'd Call Weak

DEATH ADDER:

Intro:
Here's my story,
About a man who fought so well,
So grab your whiskey,
And listen as I tell.

Verse 1:
One soul,
That carried many men,
Had come to town,
With blackouts by ten,
Wouldn't wander around,
Wouldn't dare of being brave,
They knew damn well,
They'd be digging their grave.

Chorus:
Named Death Adder,
Most lethal would be called,
Some said a black ghost,
Unseen they'd hear shells fall,
Sunk in deep shelter,
Eyes wide yet blind as hell,
Stealthy Death Adder,
As more and more men fell.

Verse 2:
For one man told,
Of a devil rejection,
As the bonfire blew,
Causing fear infection,
The whole town heard,
Kids beneath their beds,
Wouldn't go to sleep,
Shot guns out empty sheds.

Chorus:
Named Death Adder,
Most lethal would be called,
Some said a black ghost,
Unseen they'd hear shells fall,
Sunk in deep shelter,
Eyes wide yet blind as hell,
Stealthy Death Adder,
As more and more men fell.

Verse: 3
Sexy woman,
Unaffected by his greet,
Walking closer,
No sandals on her feet,
Charismatic blue eyes,
With long black hair,
Found Adder’s poison,
And it's name was Clare.

Bridge:
Yes Adder’s poison,
Was love in the end.

Chorus:
Named Death Adder,
Most lethal would be called,
Some said a black ghost,
Unseen they'd hear shells fall,
Sunk in deep shelter,
Eyes wide yet blind as hell,
Stealthy Death Adder,
As more and more men fell.

Chorus (Finish):
Named Death Adder,

FOR YOU I’LL TRY:

Verse 1:
If I set you free,
Will you fly like a bird,
Would you spread out your wings,
And never return,
Will you fly far away,
Never to be seen,
Even though I love you so,
I’m a heartbreak machine.

Verse 2:
Soon they'll be calling my name,
To fight for our freedom,
Should I let you go,
Falling’s not my intention,
I'll hope to return,
To the life I leave behind,
To the one I love most,
Oh Lord please be kind.

Chorus:
When I'm gone,
With the chance of no return,
How can I stay strong,
Knowing your heart could burn,
How is it called love,
When I'm saying goodbye,
Sacrifice my heart,
Just to know you'll fly,
For you I'll try,
For you I’ll try.

Verse 3:
When it's rivers above,
When my body starts to shiver,
Awaiting reload,
Your name I shall whisper,
To the clouds up above,
To the man in the sky,
What I call love,
Is knowing you'll fly.

Chorus:
When I'm gone,
With the chance of no return,
How can I stay strong,
Knowing your heart could burn,
How is it called love,
When I'm saying goodbye,
Sacrifice my heart,
Just to know you'll fly,
For you I'll try,
For you I’ll try.

Bridge:

Wall Of Justice:

Verse 1:
It’s a hard road,
A constant battle,
Bring them in,
You spit them out,
Got to change the cycle,
Can you feel the sorrow,
The devil’s story,
Belongs behind bars.

Verse 2:
I’m cuffed with no control,
Down this long, long road,
Taking them down,
You let them out,
Wonder why I’m changing,
Anger restraining,
I’m suffocating,
Leasing out charge.

Chorus:
Siren blazing,
Catch the devil,
Risking my life,
Can’t justify,
A seven year sentence,
Mouth is silenced,
My hands are cuffed, tightly to,
Wall of justice.

Verse 3:
Wearing a badge,
Is in my blood,
K9 partner,
Keeping me tough,
Living by monsters,
Sickening feelings,
No deserving,
The freedom keys.

Chorus:
Siren blazing,
Catch the devil,
Risking my life,
Can’t justify,
A seven year sentence,
Mouth is silenced,
My hands are cuffed, tightly to,
Wall of justice.

Chorus:
Oh… My siren blazing,
Catch the devil,
Risking my life,
I can’t justify,
A seven year sentence, no,
My mouth is silenced,
My hands are cuffed, tightly to,
Wall of justice.

Finish:
Got to break the cycle,
Build a stronger,

Me And My Six String:

Verse 1:
Got off the train in a Texas vibe,
Drove my Chevy for awhile,
It was the greatest memory, had in a while,
Got my six string in the back,
Each stop I’d play till my fingers were black,
Singing songs at the top of my lungs before hitting the swag.

Chorus :
Those were the nights (meant something to me),
Under stars sparkling bright,
Those were the days (meant something to me),
Driving down freedom highway,
Just me and my six string,
Yeah! (me and my six string),
Me and my six string.

Verse 2:
Took a left to the gambling man,
Read his cards held in his hand,
Before he threw them on the table, with a bang,
Put my money bag in the back,
Next to my six string zipped in black,
Driving through a small ghost town before hitting the sack.

Chorus :
Those were the nights (meant something to me),
Under stars sparkling bright,
Those were the days (meant something to me),
Driving down freedom highway,
Just me and my six string,
Yeah! (me and my six string),
Me and my six string.

Bridge:
If only I could do that now,
Me and my guitar travelling round,
Those were the best damn days,
Of my life…Yeah!

Chorus :
Those were the nights! (meant something to me),
Under stars sparkling bright,
Those were the days! (meant something to me),
Driving down freedom highway,
Just me and my six string,

Saluting You:

Verse 1:
Feel the breeze,
Breeze of freedom,
Hold our flag,
Way up high,
Thinking of you,
Blood stains invisible,
A warrior,
Shines on through.

Verse 2:
Feel the trigger,
Remember you,
When bullets fly,
They sing a tune,
An anthem’s story,
Singing about you,
A warrior,
Shines on through.

Chorus :
Although years have flown on past,
Our memories will always last,
A bond that will never be broken,
Where we’ve been only God’s spoken,
I’m saluting you,
Yeah… Saluting you.

Feel the whisky,
Down my throat,
Remembering,
When we would toast,
With no fear of falling,
Patriotic sound,
Raise it high to you my friend,
And throw it down.

Chorus:
Although years have flown on past,
Our memories will always last,
A bond that will never be broken,
Where we’ve been only God’s spoken,
I’m saluting you,
Yeah… Saluting you.

Soul Drifter:

Verse 1:
I knew the sound it wasn’t right,
The feelings torn inside,
When you stood facing the other way,
You knew that bluebirds only cry.

Verse 2:
Time is moving slowly by,
I feel so lost inside,
Turning my head to face the other way,
Spreading my wings and hope to fly.

Chorus :
Ooh,
Soul drifter,
Ooh,
Soul drifter,
Ooh,
I’m a lost, soul drifter.

Verse 3:
There’s so many I can try,
But I’m all frozen inside,
Changing path to walk the other way,
It’s a heartache sacrifice.

Verse 4:
Within myself I long to find,
The flame trapped deep inside,
I could rise above it anyway,
But my heart would slowly die.

Chorus :
Ooh,
Soul drifter,
Ooh,
Soul drifter,
Ooh,
I’m a lost, soul drifter.

Chorus :
Ooh,
Soul drifter,
I want to love again! Ooh,
Soul drifter,
Got to find my flame!
I’m a lost, soul drifter.

In the night,
Holding our son,
I got the call,
To fight as one,
Don't cry my lady,
I'll come back home.

Verse 2:
Hear her voice,
In a foreign land,
Just a few weeks left,
I've changed here darling,
Revenge set in my brain,
But I'm coming home.

Chorus:
As I hug you both tight,
Know I love you so,
But the vision too strong,
You have to let me go…

My mind ain't here,
I need to go back,
Revenge too fierce,
There's a knife in my back,
My mind ain't clear,
In this fairytale place,
Just one last time,
Though I'm cut both ways.

Verse 3:
Back in dirt,
Time slowing down,
I covered many,
But he hit the ground,
Feels worse than before,
On my way home.

But the vision too strong,
You have to let me go…

Took prosthetics,
For me to say,
I've done my time,
Son I'm home to stay,
I'm ready to start again,
And I won't let go…

No I won't let go.

When we would toast,
With no fear of falling,
Patriotic sound,
Raise it high to you my friend,
And throw it down.

Chorus:
Although years have flown on past,
Our memories will always last,
A bond that will never be broken,
Where we’ve been only God’s spoken,
I’m saluting you,
Yeah… Saluting you.

Chorus:
Although years have flown on past,
Our memories will always last,
A bond that will never be broken,
Where we’ve been only God’s spoken,
I’m saluting you,
Yeah… Saluting you.

Finish:
Honouring you,
Yeah… I’m saluting you.

Saluting You

About Me

Bio

Hello, my name is Teressa.
I'm a Lyricist for a great cause: Supporting our Military Veterans and Law Enforcement Officers through songs/lyrics, then donating a good percentage of royalties towards these brave men and women who are suffering PTSD, within Australia and America. That is why many of my lyrics are written about First Responders and Military. I aim to make a big difference and touch many hearts!
I hope you find something you can relate to, or use for your projects.
Thank you for viewing my page.
