THE BEAUTIFUL BARTENDING QUEEN
It's the end of the day
and I climb on the barstool
feeling tired and thirsty and mean.
And there pouring beer
wine, whiskey and wisdom
stands the beautiful bartending queen.

She mixes our drinks
like a saint saving sinners.
She's everyman's late-night daydream.
And I love her more
than winning at gambling.
She's the beautiful bartending Queen.

CHORUS
A dime in the jukebox
and a double on ice.
She answers my prayers
with a roll of the dice
She's Sunday's Savior
and Saturday night's sin.
Queen of the barroom
Make me your King.

Once a billionaire
who owns miles of Alaska
and a racehorse and a baseball team.
Left his wife, and their life
and his love of the Yukon
for the beautiful bartending queen.

Like a woman whose thoughts
are leaning towards loving,
she's got a look so downright serene.
Then she gives you a wink
and another stiff drink.
She's the beautiful bartending Queen.

CHORUS

Once far away
in a dive south of Dallas
I was traveling to check out the scene.
But I missed her too much
And ached for the touch
of the beautiful bartending Queen.

She's got the eyes of a temptress
and the mind of a mystic.
She's a sexy and sacred crossbreed.
And I think I'll sit down
for another slow round
with the beautiful bartending Queen
...with the beautiful, bartending Queen.

The Beautiful Bartending Queen

I never really knew the day that I told you.
It would ruin all we've made after all the dues we’ve paid.

I loved you all this time and that isn’t just a line.
Now you don’t trust a word I say cause I lied our love away.

CHORUS
The lies I kept hidden
set themselves free
Lies lying in ambush
stole you from me.

I told myself in time I'd make it all just fine
and in a week or two I'd tell the truth to you.

It was the week that never came and I carried on the game,
hoping what you didn’t know wouldn't hurt and wouldn’t show.

CHORUS
The lies I kept secret
all around town
Lies lying in ambush
just shot me down.

I never really saw the last and final straw
that when everything was said more lies would raise their head.

But lies fester in the night to sabotage things done right
then turning bad to worse,my secret lives the final curse.

CHORUS
The lies I kept hidden
blinded my sight.
Lies lying in ambush
done ruined my life.
