[Verse 1]
Four wheels down and rolling,
Highway Ninety‑Nine.
The road’s a restless river,
Drivers striving for time.
Just like a feeding frenzy
under the water line;
Fighting for a morsel
on highway ninety-nine.

[Chorus]
Two wheels down and rolling
A fish faster than the stream
Small against the highway
Threading the needle clean
Two wheels down and rolling

[Verse 2]
18 Wheels are rolling
Holding up the flow
Taking all that precious stuff
To places we don’t know.
Drivers are eager
And don’t want to wait
When the river opens up again
They flood through the gate

[Chorus]
Two wheels down and rolling
A fish faster than the stream
Small against the highway
Threading the needle clean
Two wheels down and rolling

[Instrumental, harmonica solo]

[Chorus]
Two wheels down and rolling
A fish faster than the stream
Small against the highway
Threading the needle clean
Two wheels down and rolling

[Verse 3]
Flowing down that river
making up the time
I see him in the mirror
and give some road of mine
And in the waves of chaos
One hand on the reins
The rider gave a two finger wave
and vanished in the lanes

[Chorus]
Two wheels down and rolling
A fish faster than the stream
Small against the highway
Threading the needle clean
Two wheels down and rolling

About Me

Bio

I'm just a regular guy with a smidgen of writing talent. Historically I have written fiction and poetry, lately learning to turn poetry into song lyrics and now understanding the differences between the two. Now I'm in search of the best song lyric I can write.

CV/History

I have a university education in English, writing. My intent at the time was to teach in public schools, then public schools ruined that idea by being terrible places to work. I have written many short stories and a two novels. Up until recently, I have only written for myself, so nothing has been published.
