Verse 1

You arrived without knocking,
Which I thought was rather grand.
You called my dress “boring”
From an undisclosed land.

You said, “Darling, all that beige—
It’s surrender, not a style.
I’d have sued you if I could,”
And flashed your famous smile.

Pre-Chorus

You said, “Life takes courage,
Not permission from a crowd.”
I wrote it down, then crossed it out,
I’m just fine here on my cloud.

Chorus

Every song is a key,
But I don’t know what it opens.
Every word leads to a plot.
Every love leaves a poem.

If you’re here, then give a sign.
You hold the truth I’m seeking.

You said, “Darling, questions bring answers-
Not the meaning.”

Verse 2

I developed this peculiar pose,
Both hands framing my face,
Then found your photograph online
With every gesture in its place.

I tried to call it coincidence,
A trick of memory and wine.
You said, “Darling, keep believing that
If it helps you sleep at night.”

Pre-Chorus

You said, “Life takes courage,
Not permission from a crowd.”
I wrote it down, then crossed it out,
I’m just fine here on my cloud.

Chorus

Every song is a key,
But I don’t know what it opens.
Every word leads to a plot.
Every love leaves a poem.

If you’re here, then give a sign.
You hold the truth I’m seeking.

You said, “Darling, questions bring answers-
Not the meaning.”

Verse 3

You suggested sharper colours,
Better tailoring and shoes.
I bought one coat in scarlet.
You said, “Finally - good news.”

Now I dress as if the pavement
Might become a little stage.
You said, “Darling, life is brief.
Don’t spend it dressed in beige.”

Bridge

“Why do you call me darling?”

“Because I called you that before.”

“Before what?”

“It doesn’t matter anymore.”

Chorus

Every song is a key,
Yet I don’t know what it opens.
Every word leads to a plot.
Every love leaves a poem.

If you’re here, I’ll take the sign.
Tell me what I’m not seeing.

And, darling, please, don’t give me answers,
Give me the meaning.

Final Chorus

Every song may be a key,
How could I disagree?

Darling

Verse 1

Who do I tell I’m tired of the solo scene?
Who gets the laughs, the tears, the in-between?
Who stops a fight before it even starts—
Teasing me softly,
Disarming my heart?

Chorus

But here I am, same street, same view,
Still chasing the perfect dream of you.
You’re just a ghost from a vintage show,
Or a fading echo from long ago.

Verse 2

I want to know I’m in your daily plans,
Colour your world with nocturnes by Chopin,
And at dawn, still veiled in silver lace,
I draw the blinds and kiss your sleepy face.

Chorus

But here I am, same street, same view,
Still chasing the perfect dream of you.
You’re just a ghost from a vintage show,
Or a fading echo from long ago.

Verse 3

You talk to me, and I simply agree.
Sometimes we argue in a minor key.
I repeat the words you never spoke,
Lighting a cigar I’ll never smoke.

Bridge

Somewhere, out there, beyond this street,
There’s a ghost of you waiting for us to meet.
And if love’s running late,
Well…
I could patiently wait.

Final Chorus

And here I am, same street, same view,
Still chasing the perfect dream of you.
You’re just a ghost from a vintage show,
Or a fading echo from long ago.

Silver Lace

Verse 1

You called me down from a myth,
Tied my gravity to your dream.
You wanted me to have your ring.
I wanted just us, no string.

You built a cage of "forever and now"-
Why did you need a binding vow?

Pre-Chorus

Our story was never meant to be,
Like a dying star
Falling for you and me.

Chorus

You knew I wasn’t yours,
A guest from stellar shores,
A cosmic light, walking in your sleep,
A rebel you could never keep.
You gave me no choice.
You knew I wasn’t yours.

Hook

Look above.
Do you see the Seven Sisters,
Hunted through the neon shimmers?

Look above.
Do you see the lights
Piercing the veil of the evening sky?

Look above.
On a clear night, you’ll find my name
Where the Pleiades rise.

Bridge

Our story was never meant to be,
Like a dying star
Falling for you and me.

You came from a dream
With a heart of gold,
A beautiful story
Left for me to hold.

Hook

Look above.
Do you see the Seven Sisters,
Hunted through the neon shimmers?

Look above.
Do you see the lights
Piercing the veil of the evening sky?

Look above.
On a clear night, you’ll find my name
Where the Pleiades rise.

Outro

Look above.

Look Above

Verse 1

Same coffee cup,
But a crack along the rim.
Your old red truck
At a house I’ve never been.

Keys still turn,
But rooms don’t know my name.
Everything’s familiar,
But not the same.

Pre-Chorus

Street signs blink.
Rain sobers me up.
I’d have asked to meet
If I had more time.

Chorus

I’m stuck between all my selves,
Half remembered, half replaced.
Nothing’s wrong, nothing’s right—
Living the life of someone else.

Verse 2

The unknown buzz
Cuts me free.
That photograph-
The truck behind you. No… me.

Feels like last year,
Stuck in my heart.
You said, “I left, but…”

Chorus

I’m stuck between all my selves,
Half remembered, half replaced.
Nothing’s wrong, nothing’s right—
Living the life of someone else.

Verse 3

I see our house
On different streets.
In one - we laugh.
In one - we fight.
Nothing’s broken,
But nothing fits.

Final Chorus

I’m stuck between all my selves,
Half remembered, half replaced.
Nothing’s wrong, nothing’s right—
Living the life of someone else.

Outro

My tired mind
Runs on a loop.
I’m lost between the lives
I never knew.

Between My Selves

Verse 1

Silence hits so hard tonight,
I can’t hear my own pain.
I’m gonna leave this past behind—
No doubts, no delays.

Verse 2

My heart keeps spinning.
Not your villain, not your sinner,
Just quietly resisting
Your game, where only you’re the winner.

Chorus

I live, I breathe, I feel
Without your permission.
No crawling back, no desperate pleas,
No blame, no conditions.

This is my life, my offbeat rhythm,
My shot, my definition.
I break the chain, I stop the wheel
No war, no petition.

Hook

Quietly,
Walking away.
Quietly,
Nothing to say.

Verse 3

It’s not the end of the world—
Same lies, thin as paper.
You just lost your role
In my story - I’m the narrator.

Bridge

No more running through the maze.
Done acting in your plot.
Done living through the haze.
Sorry… guess I’m not.

Chorus

I live, I breathe, I feel
Without your permission.
No crawling back, no desperate pleas,
No blame, no conditions.

This is my life, my offbeat rhythm,
My shot, my definition.
I break the chain, I stop the wheel—
No war, no petition.

Hook

Quietly,
Walking away.
Quietly,
Nothing to say.

Outro

Goodbye, my ordinary story.
I’m sorry—not sorry.
Not sorry, not sorry.

About Me

Bio

For a long time, whenever people asked me to introduce myself, I'd say, “I’m a university lecturer.” Now, that answer is changing. Somewhere between leaving academia and moving countries, I started writing songs.

My ideas come from many places: the lives of people around me, conversations and personal memories, books that have stayed with me, historical and mythological figures, and the occasional question that refuses to leave me alone.

I use AI-assisted tools to bring my original lyrics and the melodies I hum into music. I'm also experimenting with AI video production, transforming each song into a visual story and exploring how music and emerging technology can work together. I write in Russian and English, and the words always come first.

CV/History

My professional life has always centred on words, storytelling, and communication. I began my career as a journalist and television presenter, reporting regional news and creating and presenting a weekly arts and culture TV-show. My first degree was in literature.

After moving to New Zealand in 2005, I later transitioned into marketing academia. During my academic career, I published peer-reviewed journal articles, books, co-edited an international academic volume, and wrote for publications including Times Higher Education and The Conversation.

Songwriting is a newer expression of a much longer writing practice. I now transform my original Russian- and English-language poetry and lyrics into songs. My work is available for licensing and recording by other artists, and I'm open to collaborations.
