Hi, I am Mairead.
I am a scientist by day and a poet by night. I haven't always written lyrics, however I have always played music and found it came very naturally to me. You could say I have a inner rhythm.
I first wrote a poem in 2020. I was going through a very traumatic time and was looking for answers and reasons to go on. All of a sudden my first poem came through onto the page and the rest they say is history.
I have complied over 200 poems now with a small selection on display here. My poems are very deep and emotive. I find people can be stopped in their tracks as the words can bring up a memory or feeling they thought had long passed.
I got the idea to sell them as lyrics as a beautiful friend has written an incredible song with one of my poems for her Masters in Songwriting in University. It was such a wonderful experience to hear my words take on a new dimension in music.
