(Intro)
I'm so sick of it
I just want to live
We all want to love and be loved
But for some, (that's not enough)
If you're not what they want
(You'll be chastised)

(Verse 1)
How do you stay clean
In a world that wants to stain you?
(People with their words so self-righteous)
Saying everything we do is sin
(From the moment we’re born)
Their lives drip with indignation

(Pre-chorus)
They always think they know what’s best
Strutting proud in their Sunday vest
Holier-than-thou, (superior)
Never failing, (sanctimonious)
Sanctimonious, (sanctimonious)

(Chorus)
If you know it all so well, then
Why not say it for yourself?
Tell me how to get clean
(Tell me how to get clean)
Tell me how to get clean
(Oh, tell me how to get clean)

(Verse 2)
Maybe look within yourselves
(What do you see?)
I only see hypocrisy, (hypocrisy)
From the ones who claim virtue the most
“Let those without sin cast the first stone
The rest must atone, (must atone)"

(Pre-chorus)
The ones who do nothing to prevent
Innocent children dying, (and yet)
They just say, (“thoughts and prayers")
With their empty stares, (sanctimonious)
Sanctimonious, (sanctimonious)

(Chorus)
If you know it all so well, then
Why not say it for yourself?
Tell me how to get clean
(Tell me how to get clean)
Tell me how to get clean
(Oh, tell me how to get clean)

(Post-chorus)
Tell me how to be clean
(It’s not so easy)
Tell me how to be clean
(It’s not so easy)
Tell me how to be clean
(It’s not so easy)

(Verse 3)
If the ones you praise so highly
Are so righteous, pure, and good
(Then why are they so full of hate)
And never practice what they preach?
Quick to judge, control, condemn
(Rejecting all who aren’t like them)

(Pre-chorus)
They cast out the stranger in need
Blind to their suffering, (deaf to their pleas)
Hiding their hate behind holy words
Their gospel of exclusion absurd, (sanctimonious)
Sanctimonious, (sanctimonious)

(Outro)
Why force yourselves
Into what doesn’t concern you?
(Why attack in fear)
What was never meant to harm you?
You call for peace and love
(But that’s not what you push)

(Ending vocals)
Isn’t it tiring, being high and mighty?
Fanning the flames instead of uniting
(Fueling the divide with vanity)
Cherry-picking hills to die on
Don’t tell me to get clean, (you aren’t even clean)
(Sanctimonious)
Don’t tell me to get clean, (you aren’t even clean)
(Sanctimonious)
Don’t tell me to get clean, (you aren’t even clean)
(Sanctimonious)
Don’t tell me to get clean, (you aren’t even clean)
(Sanctimonious)

Clean (Sanctimonious)

(Verse 1)
I thought I had it figured out
But I was wrong, I see that now
All the plans just creeped away
Nothing turned out how I’d say

(Chorus)
Then the storms came on so fast
We broke apart, we couldn’t last
Tried to hold it all in place
But we shattered face to face
All the pieces on the floor
What we were, we are no more
All the falling pieces
(The falling pieces)

(Verse 2)
The ground beneath began to shake
Everything we built gave way
Puzzle scattered on the breeze
Gone before it could begin
The house collapsed, the frame gave in
Too much push to hold it in
Nothing left to brace or bind
(All of it fell out of sight)

(Chorus)
What was I supposed to do?
When I believed so much in you?
Got too deep in make-believe
Dreams too fragile to retrieve
Loved too hard, and lost my way
Now there’s nothing left to say
Just the falling pieces
(The falling pieces)

(Verse 3)
It all came crashing over me
A life I thought was meant to be
Unraveled right between my hands
Swept away like drifting sand
Your words still echo in my mind
The ones you said, then left behind
That future we both tried to write
(Crumbled in the dead of night)

(Pre-chorus)
I let my guard down, gave you trust
Believed in every word too much
Fell into your fantasy
Now there’s nothing here for me

(Chorus)
Just someone too bruised to mend
Wounds that time won’t even tend
One-sided love, a quiet siege
That left me broken on the floor
All the falling pieces
(The falling pieces)

(Outro)
I lost it all, I watched it fail
Too far gone to ever save
Now I stand in the debris
Searching for what's left of me
Gotta build from what's unknown
But the map was left behind
Just the falling pieces
(All the falling pieces)

About Me

Bio

I'm a self-taught writer pursuing a career as a lyricist, poet, and author. While I’m at the beginning of my journey and don’t yet have professional writing credits, I’m actively working to change that. Since 2017, I’ve been working on a 160-poem-long poetry book, which has been a big long-term passion project of mine. I initially started out writing poems, but I then expanded to writing lyrics. I now have five full concept albums’ worth of them, each intended to tell a cohesive narrative from start to finish. Keeping the albums intact is important to me; each one explores a unique story and emotional arc.

Writing is a huge way I express myself; it's my canvas, my outlet, and my way of connecting with others. I may be new, but I
ing serious dedication, a strong creative vision, and a voice shaped by artists who inspire me, such as Lorde, Taylor Swift, K.Flay, Bishop Briggs, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.

I'm ready to take the next step and share my work.
