No Work Wednesday

The forecast said a high of 80 today, not a chance of rain in sight
Everyone called off sick, and the boat’s waiting in the drive
The gals are bringing food, and the boys are bringing beer and we’re all bringing a good time
We’re headed to the lake for fun, it’s going to be a great one, sit back enjoy the ride
No work Wednesday has got to be the best day that we have all summer long.
Just me and my friends, been doing it for years, and I hope for years to come.
It started out in high school, now here we are as old fools still getting the party done
Yeah no work Wednesdays has got to best the day, man it’s been quite a run!
Dave’s an attorney, in the courtroom all day long, and Kyle’s a CPA
And Jody is a nurse at a local walk-in clinic, and Erin cleans houses all day
But once a year on a Wednesday, We all get a little “cough” and just can’t seem to make it work
Oh now that we are older, the one day’s turned to two cause the next day leave us feeling too rough!
No work Wednesday has got to be the best day that we have all summer long.
Just me and my friends, been doing it for years, and I hope for years to come.

So if you have some real good friends, the ones you can’t let go, start your own tradition,
see how long it grows. Make a plan and have some fun, hoot and carry on,
keep the friendship strong even once the party’s gone
