The Apology

I own you an apology
I guess the reason you've ended here is largely because of me
I know this isn't easy for you
You need to understand how hard it is for me
But now I finally
Want you to know this isn't where I wanted you to be
I know actions speak louder than words
And I will follow through
But right now, understand what I'm telling you
Cause it's true
Cause one day you'll fly so high
You'll spread your wings and reach the sky
And this I promise
You won't hold back
Everything you dream
Shall become reality
And I'll tell you it's here to last as I look
right into your eyes
And you'll be proud to have me on your side
After all
I know the years have passed on
And because of me you were cold and all alone
I often gave much less than you deserved
Even when all the others let you down
I told you to go back
And get some more
I gave them more than I ever gave to you
Even though I could feel every bit of your pain
Not once did I stop you going back again
So, for that reason
I'm just as much to blame
But someday soon a new dawn will break through
And time will belong to you
Just believe it's true

Looking back over the years

So, it's just easier to let me start again
