A basket of wicker
See the flame flicker
With the Spirit's breath
Man no more left bereft
With faith in you I can't be failed

Laying low from upon high
Let all the world sigh
At the beauty of thy love
Let all proclaim thy grace from above
A name the angels can't cease to hail

Before my bondage I could see
Before I knew to ask to be free
You had saved me even then
You were the Word before the pen
On that cross sin was forever nailed

On rugged land we stumble on
Though broken voice, hear our song
Awaiting your peace at the very end
Longing to begin calling you friend
