FLAME
A poem by Victoria Wilchcombe

When raging rivers flow
And walls of steel and iron
Tower over the fearful
Causing the heart to tremble
In a mass of shaking shadows
Yours would be the one that glows
Undaunted by the obstacle
Unfazed by the plight
From a heart tried by fire
Constructed and reshaped in the Father's light
Still comes a will unfathomable to most
Forged by the force of the day and night
As I look upon you with eyes that could never really know the journey of a flower as such
What price comes with a strength that has no equal would stagger much
In my trials and struggles, the ebb and flow of everyday
I step forward remembering the words of you who told me that God will make a way
I have come to realize minute by minute, without an allusion of doubt
That Mom you truly are a warrior, a flame of gold in the fullness of time
And quite simply, the Best Woman I know
