“Living in the Fullness”

I’m continually stumbling

way out of bounds.

You’re patiently turning

all my mistakes around.

I’m thinking I can make it alone,

surviving on my wit.

You’re preparing the way for me,

but how quickly I forget.

You’re always faithful,

right there by my side-

helping me let go

of all my foolish pride.

How tender is your heart!

-Having loved me from the start.

You know my headstrong ways-

there beside me all my days.

You’re guiding me gently

through each obstacle I face,

I’m living in the fullness

of Your glory and grace.

You’re cheering me on

as I run the race,

I’m living in the fullness

You untangle my mistakes, one by one.

Your mercies are new each morning

-with the rising sun.

Your plans are always good,

better than I could even dream.

Because you see the whole picture,

and things aren’t always as they seem.

I’m learning to trust day by day,

when I worry about what I can’t see.

I’m letting go of fear,

knowing You do what’s best for me.

More of You and less of me,

This is my prayer too,

As I walk this winding path,

step by step with You.

You’re guiding me gently

I’m living in the fullness

You’re cheering me on

Not knowing the future,

I sometimes feel misunderstood.

But Your ways are higher than mine.

I know Your plans are good.

In Heaven,

We'll find treasures there stockpiled.

So we press on hoping to hear,

“Well done, my good and faithful child.”
