FOREST DEVILS

By Cedric Sibley
I've been kidnapped
I was backpacking
A slim hand with painted fingernails is snapping in my face
He's awake, a soft voice says
Who are you, I ask, and what's that taste?
I see the empty vile
Hogtied on bear hide, growing wild, confused, scared
Women calmly standing, all so thin and fare
High fashioned hut; ropes on my ankles and wrists have been cut
I jump to my feet and guard quick, but,
but they've given me a psychotropic
What's the topic?
These doors are locked, I've got empty pockets
Eye sockets acting strange, heading for my brains, can't stop it
Led into a room with a tub, water, warm and red, so warm and red; I'm naked
Bathed by gloves, falling in love with lovely faces and their song
ABOUT A COMING TRANSFORMATION

Alone as the water drains in silence
Skin stained contemplation; I pinch myself, gently, just to feel
A moment expands and reveals, such sensation
My arms sit at either side of the tub and have a conversation
IMPS, I'm a fly on the wall and I think they saw me
IMPS, lean in close; they saw me, Aahh
IMPS, sharing jokes, telling secrets
IMPS; pale beauty rings their necks
She leads me up a stairwell
She sets me down
I'm to far gone for words
Tan curves hum with the mirror
Pale beauty slicks back my hair
Toenails and fingernails are PAINTED BLACK
Serpentine contact lenses, fine silks of regal form
Satanic jewelry, a crown of horns
MASTER, YOU ARE REBORN

I'm fxxxing pissed, in a rage
Chains and clenched fists, no flames
Made up like the devil, how insane
All they do is worship me
I'm fxxxing screaming on the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in
My recollections of yesterday crept in
upon waking to this soothing scent and softness
Disorientation then maidens
Breakfast is on the ceiling
They're all kneeling out of reach
Tallest one stands, slips it off, spins, with blushing cheeks AND SMILES
My wildest efforts as she gives herself
I pin her to the sheets
No further actions lend to the type of man I am, except for a snarl and a glare
and yet, how disarming is bare flesh
Enter, the rest of the coven
HOW THE DAY WORE ON
MOON REPLACE SUN
CHAINS UNDONE
So exhausted, but still I run

Tangled in shadows
Tripping and crashing my way through the forest
Cackling chorus, coven of witches, right
Lunatics is more like it
The wind bites this sacrilege
Who will I come upon and scare out of their wits?
Flits of wing, rapid crunching, a loud crack
SHOULD I SURVIVE
THE PROMISE OF LIGHT
A campfire, a person I do not see
Cautious, I approach slowly
A snoring form on the opposite side of the flames, rolls,
the light divulges a human frame when two eyes pop, serpentine
I know how this tree feels
On his feet now, growls and he walks proud
What does this mean that he's made up like me?
And the crown now, horned, drawn down brow, glare with a grin, seeming territorial
How can this be, how, what is happening?
It roars, I choke out a scream
