Strange, you, the city with 5000 years of age
Couldn’t wait for me to be on your stage
With 5000 years, are you old ? too old ?

While the Roman Empire chose you to be the center of their law school thousands years ago,
Now in 2020, some of us, preferred to pull you down and low
You did cry, yes I know, I saw you doing that over the shore

To clear all tears from your face
Yes Beirut, I know that you trust me more than you trust anyone else
Me the sea, I’m your only loyal friend

To make you a nice necklace, all around your neck.

Having experienced the feeling, gave you joy
And brought you peace of mind

Sometimes the final goal you strive for
Is not the unique source of satisfaction
Brave souls who try and explore
Forcibly gain great attraction
Even if you’ll have deception
You can always repeat more and more
without being shy at all
After that you’ll be relieved
Cause at the end a flip side will catch your eyes

What lies below
We call it the option B
It hides in the shade of your dream

Put yourself inside a train
Lengthen your feet and forget your strain
Open your eyes and project yourself
Don’t close them you may miss a scene and you won’t see it again
Some of your friends are walking, others are playing
You want the train to slow down to go to play
But it won’t obey
So you decided to draw a portray of every scene
Remember all these cartoons
That you can retrieve piece after piece
Put yourself inside a train
Lengthen your feet and forget your strain
While you were drawing
Your hand moved slower or quicker
Slower when you are restoring a bad piece
That you don’t rush to revive again with bitter
But you want to draw it cause your are brave
Then you started the joyful pieces of your life
The pencil moved smoothly and quickly
To bring you the scene on time
Your pencil is your closest ally
Who knows exactly what you want to describe
Put yourself inside a train
Lengthen your feet and forget your strain
The train started to slow
It might finished its journey
Was it the last stop ? no, not at all !
It’s like a medley
Your drawings will never reach their end
But the train will continue its way
To reach what ?
Nobody knows

Le conseil de mon crayon
Mon crayon glisse lentement, de gauche à droite
Il attend impatiemment
Pour en faire sortir une belle sonate
Je ne suis pas un musicien, je le sais
Mais j’aime les idées que mon crayon fait
Mon crayon glisse lentement, de gauche à droite

Parfois ces idées m’amènent vers toi
Parfois vers mes amis
Et parfois vers ma famille
Dans tous les cas, je me sens dans mon nid
Mais c’est avec toi que je veux être réuni
Si j’arrive chez toi, ca veut dire que
Je suis plus ou moins chez moi
Plus ou moins puisque je ne veux pas occuper tout ton espace
Je veux plutôt le partager avec toi
Mon crayon glisse lentement, de gauche à droite
Pour en faire sortir une belle sonate
Mon crayon m’a toujours dit :
Pas besoin de verser de l’encre sur tout le papier
Mais seulement là où les mots se placent
Alors j’ai appris, qu’ainsi, l’amour dans la vie
On le vivra sans angoisses
Plus ou moins jusqu’à l’infini

Tu fais partie de ce groupe
Qui maintient l’humanité sur ses bases sociétales,
Je n’exagère pas sous prétexte que tu es mon amie
Mais c’est parce que tu es l’amie de la société
Tu te bats sans porter de bottes, ni casques métalliques
Mais avec de simples gants et un masque en plastique
Je pensais à toi, à ta bataille à l’hôpital
Qui maintient l’humanité sur ses bases sociétales
T’as passé des nuits blanches
Au mieux t’as dormi sur des planches
Et c’est là justement ton énergie
Tu ne fais pas de cinéma, tu fais ton job
Tu veilles à ce que ta mission soit bien accomplie

Probablement ce virus ne quittera pas dans l’immédiat
Mais ses séquelles, tu les a sûrement bien anéanties
On lèvent notre chapeau pour vous, Vous êtes les lauréats

We focused only on numbers
We counted the G, the Pixel and the K
1, 2-G and now we have 5-G
The G is our new conquest for speed
Pixel moved from 1 to 10 megapixel so we can see
Your selfie or the food you start to eat
Your salary is counted by how many K
It made you become obsessed and greed
You saw only this all over your way
We should apologize to our humanity, because we failed in our humility

Suddenly, somewhere, an intruder appeared
Artificially or naturally, maybe nobody knows
We don’t even know how we can be healed
We panic, not knowing when it goes
Lockdown covers all over the globe
Stay at home, don’t touch your face and don’t touch your nose
Our humanity, is it so weak ??

A step backward or forward
Because I was afraid for her head
Many things to loose or nothing to fear
Two states of mind that affect our gear
I don’t want to be mean
But for sure I want to be real
Because of her, only for her I made a swear
Her silvery voice vibrates all over the place
It’s even shading the beauty of her face
She has a vibe that made me liberate myself
I set my time and opened my mind
Because of her I decided to climb
I couldn’t see what I will find
But I was happy to drag myself inside
I don’t want to complicate my life
Basic joy is what I strive for
