ANGRY HEART
BY DAVID SCOTT 4-18-24

You seemed like such a nice girl, when I met you online,
Things moved along okay until you crossed the foul line,
You seemed to have ambition when you posted your ad,
In the end for you it seems it turned out mighty sad.

Things are spoken correctly, then you go into a ‘tiz,
Some of us still wish to like to tell it like it is,
You think someone is flawed because they keep the right score,
You know you’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

You had such big plans and you bragged about your future,
Before they came about, they began to need a suture,
I’m sorry you’re upset because it didn’t work out,
It wasn’t meant to be, didn’t mean to make you pout.

(Chorus)
You attack me online, but your position isn’t clear,
Instead of clawing others you should fall on your own spear,
You call me nasty names but let me tell you dear,
You’re not the brightest bulb up in the chandelier,
(Guitar Riff)

You gave it a try and sought to finish the race,
Started out fine and at a nice proper pace,
Was a victimless relationship, never got a real start,
Even though a short time, I guess it still broke your heart.

There should be no hard feelings, there was nothing to envelop,
These things you know, they take some time to develop,
You’re still a cool chick and you’ll meet the right fellow,
But for right here and now, you just need to mellow.

Those emotional punches, they hit you right in the chin,
It’s either going to be, but sometimes never should have been,
There’s a reason that things happen, maybe you should find a lover,
Or maybe you just need to learn to simply duck and take cover.

(Bridge)
You attack me online, but your position really sucks,
You call me nasty names to try to throw me in a flux,
Maybe you’ll actually make those big mega-bucks.
Then you can Finally leave me alone, Oh Shucks!
(Guitar Riff)

Next time you place an ad, why don’t you add this,
If you want to be with me, you’ll need to seal it with a kiss,
If you want to find your guy, if you want the real thing,
Then just straighten out your head and don’t do anything!

FOOL ME TWICE
BY DAVID SCOTT 2/17/24

(Chorus)
I thought you’d probably wanna,’ when you said Hi to me,
Took time to walk my way,
Don’t be so shy babe, I got better things to do,
Would be cool for you to stay.

Please don’t tell me, get to know me, what’s your favorite day,
I’ll take you to my place,
If you’ll let me just this one time, please don’t shun me away,
I want to kiss that pretty face.

I’ve seen girls like you, you’ll pay attention to me,
For a minute or two,
Hold your pretty hand—talk about your tan,
Then leave me feelin’ blue.

(Chorus)
I’d hoped you’d probably wanna,’ once you said Hi to me,
You seemed to walk my way,
Don’t be so shy babe, there’s other girls than you,
Ok, I’d like for you to stay.

So I take you out, then I watch you start to pout,
Why won’t you give in to me,
Took your love for granted, must have truly been enchanted,
Just wasn’t meant to be.

I thought you’d wanna, but instead it turned south,
I should have never thought,
Listened to some people, let them run at the mouth,
But baby you’re so Hot.

A SENSOR SITUATION
BY DAVID SCOTT (4/12/24)

If I could be the traffic czar,
I’d do my job with lots of introspection,
You see I’d jump into my traffic car,
Make a list of every light that needs correction.

Nobody likes to sit at traffic lights,
Empty lights waste time and resources,
These empty lights sometimes cause fights,
It’s akin to being in buggies with horses.

It would seem there’s such a simple fix,
So that traffic lights don’t increase the mix,
We don’t need more advice dispensers,
Put every traffic light on sensors.

(Chorus)
Oh, I’d change the situation,
To reflect the realization,
When it comes to traffic signals,
We need a slight correction.

You head downtown on Reno Ave.,
Expecting a nice smooth flow,
Because of lights that are set on timers,
It’s amazing how slow you’ll go.

You need to plan your day ahead,
When driving around in OKC,
Don’t place a bet to beat the spread,
Because you’re going to be tardy.

Timers are set for rush hour traffic,
Over 20 other hours every day,
Don’t make me have to get real graphic,
Traffic’s best when sensor’s pave the way.

(Chorus)
Oh, I’d change the situation,
To prove the realization,
When it comes to traffic signals,
We need a new direction.

You shouldn’t get in your car expecting a hassle,
You should be able to flow from A to B,
Should be easy returning to your castle,
Shouldn’t take that much time to break free.

(Bridge)
I’d change the situation,
Regardless of urbanization,
When it comes to these dang lights,
Please TRY to get closer to perfection.

When you see those city trucks at intersections,
When you see the workers digging up the street,
Tell them thank you if make the interaction,
Maybe you even offer them a treat.

Next time you travel down the road,
Next time you arrive at an empty light,
When you’re ready to be out of traffic mode,
Call and ask for some action or just sit tight.

A SENSORY SITUATION

TARZAN THE JUNGLE MAN
BY DAVID SCOTT 3/28/24

There was a guy named Tarzan,
Better come grab ahold of his vine,
When in doubt or if in trouble,
He’ll rescue you just in time.

Now the creatures they all knew him,
And with that, please let me explain,
Talkin’ lions, tigers, apes, and birds,
But especially his girl Jane.

See Tarzan has a lot of busy days,
Avoiding angry Rhinos and rescuing chicks,
Once gave Miss Jane an elephant ride,
While emphasizing his politics.

(Chorus)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
As you travel from tree to tree.

Tarzan took a different route one day,
Grabbed his girl Jane by the hand,
Said Tarzan going to take you now,
To go meet the boys in the band.

Jane clutched Tarzan as they flew on the vine,
They had a few miles to traverse,
Got almost all the way there,
Jane said she forgot her purse.

Now Tarzan he was a patient man,
As she gently climbed his back,
Then they reversed course about three miles,
So Jane could retrieve her sack.

(Chorus)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
As you travel with such glee.

They finally reached their destination,
The band was getting ready to play,
This time there’d be no abdication,
But Jane would find a way.

The band was getting’ warmed up,
The drummer was tuning his snare,
It was about that time that Jane reacted,
No-one had time to prepare.

The trees they started shaking,
Things they seemed in limbo,
Cuz the animals were all racing,
To get the best seats to the show.

(Bridge)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
But now now she’s got to Pee.

Now Tarzan had finally had enough,
He ordered Miss Jane to listen,
There is plenty of dry sage grass around,
Go there and make it Glisten!

SENSEI SARA
By David Scott 3/15/24

She came from humble beginnings,
But never down and out,
What she lacked in confidence,
She promulgated with doubt.

Always the last pick at recess,
Seems every day’s the same,
One, two, three strikes you’re out,
Must be the end of the game.

Chorus
Sensei Sara grew to fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Sara grew tired of finishing last,
So she read a magazine,
Read it from cover to cover,
The best news she’d ever seen.

Sara started working out,
Exercising thrice per day,
Built her body up so fast,
You would never see her stray.

Chorus
Sensei Sara grew in fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Then she took up martial arts,
Kick a can off the top of your head,
Sara got back her confidence,
No more tears to be shed.

Placed first in three straight contests,
Never fell to second place,
Loved the thrill of competition,
Even learned to play the bass.

(Bridge)
Sensei Sara grew in fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Now music’s not in her game,
Too strong for notes and chords,
Check her body you’ll see,
She’s built for breaking boards.

It was hard for her to meet men,
Even on the Riviera,
It must be intimidating,
To be the right man for Sensei Sara.

DIZZY LIZZY
BY DAVID SCOTT 3/22/24

I was looking for a girlfriend and you came upon the scene,
You really took me by surprise,
You were in a pink bikini and your eyes are super green,
I was ready to capsize.

We’re a start-up band, hoped you’d think I was a star,
Wanted to make you understand,
The other guys in the crowd, they don’t really matter,
I’m the one that’s in the band.

You told me that I’m sexy and you like the way I’m built,
That made you number one,
And then you took me by the hand and looked me straight into my eyes,
I wasn’t ready to be done.

(Chorus)
She has the body of a goddess, but the soul of a snake,
Just please be careful cuz your heart is what’s at stake.

When the show was winding down and I asked you for your name,
You said your name was Lizzy,
You’re no average girl by looking at that frame,
You made the whole band dizzy.

The way you moved in stride was just so cool,
Your dance moves are amazing,
Your sultry back and forth totally made me drool,
Truly sent my heart a blazing.

You finally came in closer as we played our final set,
Our eyes met once again,
I motioned at you, and then I made the guys a bet,
You’d be mine by evening’s end.

(Chorus)
She has the body of a goddess, but the soul of a snake,
Just please be careful cuz your heart is what’s at stake.

After the show, I couldn’t simply let you go,
I asked you backstage for a drink,
You came with a friend, you’ll want a quid pro quo,
We made it happen with a wink.

As the night grew dim, I had to ask your name again,
I guess there ain’t no guarantee,
You told me one more time and then you wrote it with a pen,
Next time please don’t call me.

I told you that you’re sexy and I like the way you’re built,
But did that make me number one,
Then I took you by the hand and looked you straight into your eyes,
You said it wasn’t that much fun.

(Bridge)
She has the body of a goddess, but the soul of a snake,
Just please be careful cuz she’s quite a Flake!

They say what doesn’t kill me should make me stronger even more,
I hate to tell ya, but it’s true,
Keep working hard, good things will be in store,
And see ya later Déjà vu!

ONLINE APHRODITE
BY DAVID SCOTT 3/12/24

It was dark—I was lonely, approaching Saturday night,
I couldn’t wait to get home, TV on—there was nothing,
About to give up the fight,
And then go on the roam.

Then a lightbulb went off, almost hit me in the head,
Instead of staying up,
I should have gone on to bed,
Look at me, I’m surely brain dead.

It was a quarter past ten,
Got some power to the thing,
Lights are quickly coming on,
The piercing sound of that ding.

Chorus
Aphrodite your so cool, once you graduated school,
You got to know lots of fellas,
It’s a business you know well, over time—will surely tell,
Just don’t get overzealous.

Gotta’ get to the place,
If you get all my gist,
I guess I better type it in,
Time to go visit Craigslist.

Once you get to the site,
It’s time to make some selections,
It’s either Rants and Raves,
Or go straight to Missed Connections.

So I went to the page,
While checking out each ad,
Thinking go ahead and hit reply,
It’s bound to leave you very glad.

The very hardest part,
Is waiting for your response,
Then the nighttime came,
Went and checked my email once.

Found where you had replied,
And your name is Aphrodite.
Your pretty picture was included,
But you might be kind of flighty.

Gave me a warm welcome,
That feeling was so nice,
Said you’re ready to meet me,
But it comes with a price.

Chorus
Aphrodite your so cool, you finally graduated school,
You’ve entertained lots of fellas,
It’s a business you know well, get to see your ego swell,
Can’t take the time to get jealous.

Took a chance on you, because you sounded so nice,
Set a time and a date, when you’re gonna’ be mine,
Gotta’ hit the ATM,
Supposed to be there at nine.

Got out of my car as I approached your door,
Thinking this will be be so cool,
Then saw a dude leaving—I was so surprised,
I really doubt he was your mentor.

You invited me inside, you even handed me a flower,
At that point—I’m in a dream,
Then you asked—give me a minute, I’ll hurry for you,
And let me first jump in the shower.

We spent the rest of the hour and got to know each other well,
But then it set me to thinking,
If you’re going to keep this up girl then you may want to know,
I think you’re headed straight for Hell.

You gave me one more big kiss,
Then you sweetly called me honey,
Now it’s time for you to pay up,
Time to deliver to me, my money.

(Bridge)
Aphrodite your so cool, you finally graduated school,
You got to know lots of guys,
It’s a business you know well, get to see your ego swell,
Now time to seek the next Prize!

Saw my doc then became dismayed,
Now surgery’s Way more than ointment.

When you next see the doc please remember,
When you need to see the doc please say,
Okay, I’d best recover before November,
Or there’s gonna’ be Hell to pay!

THE SURGERY SONG

A SENSOR SITUATION
BY DAVID SCOTT (4/12/24)

If I could be the traffic czar,
I’d do my job with lots of introspection,
You see I’d jump into my traffic car,
Make a list of every light that needs correction.

Nobody likes to sit at traffic lights,
Empty lights waste time and resources,
These empty lights sometimes cause fights,
It’s akin to being in buggies with horses.

It would seem there’s such a simple fix,
So that traffic lights don’t increase the mix,
We don’t need more advice dispensers,
Put every traffic light on sensors.

(Chorus)
Oh, I’d change the situation,
To reflect the realization,
When it comes to traffic signals,
We need a slight correction.

You head downtown on Reno Ave.,
Expecting a nice smooth flow,
Because of lights that are set on timers,
It’s amazing how slow you’ll go.

You need to plan your day ahead,
When driving around in OKC,
Don’t place a bet to beat the spread,
Because you’re going to be tardy.

Timers are set for rush hour traffic,
Over 20 other hours every day,
Don’t make me have to get real graphic,
Traffic’s best when sensor’s pave the way.

(Chorus)
Oh, I’d change the situation,
To prove the realization,
When it comes to traffic signals,
We need a new direction.

You shouldn’t get in your car expecting a hassle,
You should be able to flow from A to B,
Should be easy returning to your castle,
Shouldn’t take that much time to break free.

(Bridge)
I’d change the situation,
Regardless of urbanization,
When it comes to these dang lights,
Please TRY to get closer to perfection.

When you see those city trucks at intersections,
When you see the workers digging up the street,
Tell them thank you if make the interaction,
Maybe you even offer them a treat.

Next time you travel down the road,
Next time you arrive at an empty light,
When you’re ready to be out of traffic mode,
Call and ask for some action or just sit tight.

A SENSORY SITUATION

TARZAN THE JUNGLE MAN
BY DAVID SCOTT 3/28/24

There was a guy named Tarzan,
Better come grab ahold of his vine,
When in doubt or if in trouble,
He’ll rescue you just in time.

Now the creatures they all knew him,
And with that, please let me explain,
Talkin’ lions, tigers, apes, and birds,
But especially his girl Jane.

See Tarzan has a lot of busy days,
Avoiding angry Rhinos and rescuing chicks,
Once gave Miss Jane an elephant ride,
While emphasizing his politics.

(Chorus)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
As you travel from tree to tree.

Tarzan took a different route one day,
Grabbed his girl Jane by the hand,
Said Tarzan going to take you now,
To go meet the boys in the band.

Jane clutched Tarzan as they flew on the vine,
They had a few miles to traverse,
Got almost all the way there,
Jane said she forgot her purse.

Now Tarzan he was a patient man,
As she gently climbed his back,
Then they reversed course about three miles,
So Jane could retrieve her sack.

(Chorus)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
As you travel with such glee.

They finally reached their destination,
The band was getting ready to play,
This time there’d be no abdication,
But Jane would find a way.

The band was getting’ warmed up,
The drummer was tuning his snare,
It was about that time that Jane reacted,
No-one had time to prepare.

The trees they started shaking,
Things they seemed in limbo,
Cuz the animals were all racing,
To get the best seats to the show.

(Bridge)
Tarzan the Jungle Man, how happy can you be,
You’ve always got Miss Jane on your back,
But now now she’s got to Pee.

Now Tarzan had finally had enough,
He ordered Miss Jane to listen,
There is plenty of dry sage grass around,
Go there and make it Glisten!

TARZAN THE JUNGLE MAN

SENSEI SARA
By David Scott 3/15/24

She came from humble beginnings,
But never down and out,
What she lacked in confidence,
She promulgated with doubt.

Always the last pick at recess,
Seems every day’s the same,
One, two, three strikes you’re out,
Must be the end of the game.

Chorus
Sensei Sara grew to fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Sara grew tired of finishing last,
So she read a magazine,
Read it from cover to cover,
The best news she’d ever seen.

Sara started working out,
Exercising thrice per day,
Built her body up so fast,
You would never see her stray.

Chorus
Sensei Sara grew in fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Then she took up martial arts,
Kick a can off the top of your head,
Sara got back her confidence,
No more tears to be shed.

Placed first in three straight contests,
Never fell to second place,
Loved the thrill of competition,
Even learned to play the bass.

(Bridge)
Sensei Sara grew in fame,
People grew to recognize the name,
All the girls gave her a ten,
Her arms were bigger than most men.

Now music’s not in her game,
Too strong for notes and chords,
Check her body you’ll see,
She’s built for breaking boards.

It was hard for her to meet men,
Even on the Riviera,
It must be intimidating,
To be the right man for Sensei Sara.
