Don’t Really Want to be PC

These days I’m so downhearted
These days I so confused
Used to be uncomplicated
Those days had simple rules

Now everyone is wonderful
Everyone’s the same
The mad, the bad, the ugly
Can’t levy any blame

They said to me
You have to be
We all are free
(pause)
Be what you want
Think what you want
Say what you want
(pause)

It’s our uniform
We all conform
Don’t cause a storm

Don’t really want to be PC (can I say that?)

The world has just gone crazy
Denying this makes me sane
I can get away with murder
If my childhood is to blame

Learn from the past
It goes too fast
The past don’t last
(pause)
The rules today
Are here to stay
No God but you can pray
(pause)

So speak like us
Don’t make a fuss
Superfulous

Don’t really want to be PC (if that’s ok with you)

Don't Really Want to be PC

Distant as the Sun

Verse 1
She rode out one sunny morning
Tears in her eyes were plain to see
Had to return to another
Though her love was all for me

Chorus
And I can’t forget that girl
Though the years may roll between us
And the time we shared together
Is as distant as the sun

Verse 2
We met one day down by the river
She was so young and full of life
But her man and used her badly
Had cut her spirit as with a knife

Verse 3
I asked her home to share some dinner
As the night was closing in
She accepted with some foreboding
For she could sense the smell of sin

Verse 4
We met much more that too short summer
As her man was far away
The love that grew gave no misgivings
Except I knew she couldn’t stay

Verse 5
And so it came she must be leaving
To go back to her town
It was a day I’ll long remember
It was the day my heart went down

Distant as the Sun

The Mildura Song

Verse 1
There’s a river that runs through Mildura
A river, that’s dirty and brown
And if you swim in this river at Mildura
You’re more than likely to end up dead and drowned

Chorus
But if you swim in the river, if you swim in the lake
If you swim in the gutter that runs by my gate
If you swim in the ocean, if you swim in the sea
Don’t come swimming back to me

Verse 2
There’s a winery at this place called Mildura
A winery that shouldn’t be missed
And if you go to this winery at Mildura
You’re more than likely to end up pissed

Verse 3
There’s a pub in in this place called Mildura
And it’s got the biggest attraction by far
Cos at this pub in this place called Mildura
It’s got the worlds biggest and longest bar

Verse 4
There’s a beach at this place called Mildura
But if you go there you won’t find any snails
Cos at the beach at this place called Mildura
You can swim all the way to New South Wales

Verse 5
There’s a caravan park in Mildura
But if you go there, you won’t find any grass
Cos at that caravan park in Mildura
The only place to sit, is on your arse

Verse 6
There’s a river that runs through Mildura
A river, that’s dirty and brown
And if you swim in this river at Mildura
You’re more than likely to end up dead and drowned

Ode to a Plant

Verse 1
You wonder back to your castle
Air tight, secure from social indifference
Disillusion catches every muscle
You discover, death is life’s consequence

Chorus
But oh, to be a plant
To acquire your land without a grant
Oh, to be green
Forever seen
The bush and shrub hedges
To keep uncut edges
And an atmosphere
Pure and green

Verse 2
Gems of proper breeding
Living trophies of your toils of soils
You nurture them from seedlings
And your lifestyle then despoils

Verse 3
They grow from just a shoot
Digestions from the root
They branch and then they leave their savings
Well they just leave them at their local branch

Mystery of Memories

Verse 1
Colored leaves in the swirling breeze
Ripples float on endless seas
Reflections catch my eye
Remember times you made me cry

Chorus
The mystery of memories
Senses chain the flow of thoughts
Good friends offer empathy
For the heartache lovers have bought

Verse 2
I catch your perfume in street crowds
Back my mind rushes recklessly
To the time that it was ours
It haunts my mind relentlessly

Verse 3
I hear our song in the coffee shop
I’m transported instantly
How we danced, I held you close
That moment repeats eternally

Veganatarian
(Vegan v Vegetarian)

Verse 1
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
I'm correct, you're a contrarian
This culinary divide, is much too wide
Cos I'm vegan, you're vegetarian

Chorus...
Who would have thought that what you eat
Would restrict the list of lovers to meet
Strictly adhere to the dietary mores
And just run a line through the carnivores

Verse 2
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
You’re conflicted, I’m humanitarian
Fungus don’t feel, plants don’t squeal
So I'm vegan, but you're vegetarian

Verse 3
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
You’re elitist, I’m egalitarian
Eggs are not a toy, NBG, girl, boy
Yes I'm vegan, you're vegetarian

Verse 4
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
I’m worldly, sure you’re not Aryan?
Milk from a cow, what’s next, a sow?
Pure vegan, impure vegetarian

Verse 5
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
Lettuce for a snack, you’re not fooling anyone
Leather in your shoes, would give me the blues
Yes I'm vegan, you're vegetarian

Verse 6
I'm a vegan, you're vegetarian
In spite of this fact, you know I love you
We could be happy in a compromised way
Raising our veganatarians
