Good Ole Days

Verse 1

I miss the days we rode on top of a firebird, while speeding in the cemetary
How we danced around the fire, while drunk and high at the town park party
How we drank hot chocolate, while chillin at the beach after pulling an all nighter
Hell! Those were some good times, awesome memories to last a life time…

Chorus

Now, we make sure the kids are in bed at nine
And that they hand in their homework on time
Sometimes it gets so exhausting, I can’t help but let my mind…
Wander away…. To the good old daze

Verse 2

Of when we used to hotwire cars, then go for a joy ride
Take off to your cottage, go skinny dipping in the lake
Dance on top of the tables, while singing karaoke
Go Bar hopping, till the wee hours of the morning

Chorus

Now, we have bills to pay, mouths to feed
And it ain’t about us, much anymore….
Sometimes it gets so hard, making sure there ok
I can’t help but let my mind wander, to the good old daze

Bridge

But, even though those days are long and gone
We have created new memories to last a life time
The time our son was on CP24 for winning best dancer
And how he ran for terry fox to raise money for cancer
Now, I can sit here and wish that I could live the good old daze again
Or, I can enjoy all the new memories we have created since then

Chorus

The time tyler gave me a mother’s day card made of macaroni
How we made each other laugh when our car broke down
I just realized that I am still the luckiest women in the world
Cause, I get to be a part of the good ole days we have now!

Good Ole Days

Verse 1

You are all gathered round the table
Glasses filled with wine cheers together
All women are given a bouquet of flowers
Children light up as they pop a Christmas cracker

Pre-Chorus

But there is one chair missing
One chair that should have been put round the table…

Chorus

How can you enjoy yourself?
After what you have done?
How can you enjoy yourself?
After what you have done?

Verse 2

She pulls her ratty, old blanket over her bed
Shields herself from the snow that is falling on her head
A shiver runs down her spine, her pennies have run dry…
Her stomach growls for the thousandth time…

Chorus

How can you enjoy yourself?
After what you have done?
How can you enjoy yourself?
After what you have done?

Bridge

You blame her for your mistakes
When it’s you that’s the problem
You are the mom
She is just a teen kid

Chorus

How can you enjoy yourself?
Not knowing if she is dead
How can you enjoy yourself?
Now that you have disowned your own daughter

Daughter

You were high on ecstasy, covered in swollen welts
You were, in complete denial of yourself
You hooked the streets, to pay for more drugs
Totally, oblivious you weren’t clean
On the streets of Grange Park

I tried to make you see, but all you did was ignore me
You claimed, it was only from the ecstasy
Then you stumbled away, hooking for more pills
Popping more even though you are very ill
On the streets of Grange Park

Ain’t no way I’ll ever go to your wedding
It’s just you and your demons my friend
And my hope for you has run dry
I can’t even bring myself to cry
I can’t save you anymore

The day is long and cold
I feel myself breaking down
I lean down and give your cheek a kiss
You are cold, cold as stone, free from

The Day I Was Born

Verse 1

Do you ever think of me at night?
Wishing you could turn back time?
To see me turn one while, dancing in the sun
See me turn four while, covered in chocolate smores
Oh, are you ever curious?
Or, do you just not care?

Chorus

That the only thing I have of you
Is a photo of you picnicking by yourself
I will never get to hear the sound of your voice
Never know if I made you proud or annoyed
Cause, you gave up on me,
The Day I Was Born

Verse 2

Do you ever dream of me at night?
Curious, what it would have been like?
To see me graduate grade eight, go on my first date
Marry the man of my dreams, take off in his high beam
Oh, are you ever curious,
Or do you just not care?

Chorus

That the only thing I have of you
Is a photo of your picnicking by yourself
I will never get to hear the sound of your voice
Never know if I made you proud or annoyed
Cause you gave up on me,
The Day I Was Born

Bridge

If only you could have seen
Just how it could have been
You would have been able to see
All that makes me, me
But, you chose to hide for life
Rip my heart out with your knife
Now, all we have left,
Is, Good Bye...

Chorus

Cause the only thing I have of you
Is a photo of you picnicking by yourself
I will never get to hear the sound of your voice
Never know if I made you proud or annoyed
Cause you gave up on me, Dad

The Day I Was Born

Just For Show

Verse 1

I miss how we used to get stoned, lie beside each other and sing
How we used to take late night walks to get pizza and wings
You made me laugh saying the simplest things
We never wanted to let each other go when we had to leave

Pre-chorus

Now, I am under your attack
You don’t apologize or take anything you say back
You criticize me and call me a looser
You have become my abuser

Chorus

I tear away from you, you drag me back
You rip away from me, I lure you back in
We make passionate love, we are on fire
Then you are cold as ice, thinking twice
How do I know we are meant to be?
When all you want to do is flee

Verse 2

I want to be with you
But you won’t let me win
I am sick of being the blame of your sins
Drowning our sorrows in a bottle of gin

Chorus

I tear away from you, you drag me back
You tear away from me, I lure you back in
We make passionate love, we are on fire
Then you are cold as ice, thinking twice
How do I know we are meant to be?
When all you want to do is flee

Bridge

Baby, if you want me let me know
Stop putting on a show
Tell me how you really feel
Instead of taking off behind the wheel

Chorus

I tear away from you, you drag me back
You rip away from me, I lure you back in
We make passionate love, we are on fire
Then you are cold as ice, thinking twice
Baby, if you want to be with me, let me know
I am not just for show!

Just For Show

Verse

You never showed up to court
Missed the day he took his first step
Could care less if he does well in school
You’re too busy trying to be cool

Chorus

And yet,
You have a Rose Tattoo
With his initials carved in it

Verse

You’d rather get drunk and high
Prostitute yourself on the streets
Take part in break and entries
Then, be there by his side

Chorus

And yet…
You have a Rose Tattoo
With is initials carved in it

Bridge

If he means that much to you
Then why do you do nothing for him
You boast about having a son
Yet…all you do is run…

Chorus

So, tell me…
Why do you have a Rose Tattoo
With his initials carved in it?
You don’t deserve it!
