Playin’ In The Grass

Verse1

What’d you break a heart
like mine for?
You reckless fool
Lie your way through life, It’s just not
The golden rule

Refrain

It was all so free, and childlike
Playin’ in the grass
Now it’s all so broke, and torn up
Headed for the past

Bridge

To be young you must be
strong
And to be strong you must have lived
I gave it all, I wasn’t
wrong
And when I heal my heart l’ll give

Verse 2

Don’t you see what’s happened here?
It all caught up today
Your exes, past, and demons called
They had a lot to say

Refrain

Bridge

Verse 3

Deep inside my souls’ all coiled up
Fragile, tender, blue
One day soon I’ll leave the door cracked
Just not for you.

Refrain

Playin’ In The Grass

Verse1

What’d you break a heart
like mine for?
You reckless fool
This time it’s over darlin’
You’ve broken more than rules

Refrain

It was all so free, and childlike
Playin’ in the grass
Now it’s all so broke, and torn up
Headed for the past

Bridge

To be young you must be strong
And to be strong you must have lived
I gave it all, I wasn’t
wrong
And when I heal my heart l’ll give

Verse 2
Don’t you see what’s happened here?
It all caught up today

They had a lot to say

Verse 3

Deep inside my souls’ all coiled up
Fragile, tender, blue
One day soon I’ll leave the door cracked
Just not for you.

Playin’ In The Grass

Girl Next Door

Verse 1

When the sun goes down
She glitters brighter than the moon
Glows for me below her
Knowing that I’m doomed

Refrain

She lives on cloud eleven
Without a lick of shame
Past the fierypits of hell
And Venus is her name

Save me to your heaven
Sequined atmosphere
I won’t survive the journey
But please don’t leave me here.

Verse 2
Running short on time, as always
Out of answers too
Runnin like my hairs on fire
burning up for you

Refrain

Verse 3
I look up through her window
she shows a little more
A poisonous enigma
The beauty just next door.

About Me

Bio

Writer, Illustrator
Creating beauty, covered in dog hair.

CV/History

I write poetry, short stories, children’s picture books, songs, and currently working on a book (a big one!).
I paint, oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
I’ve lived my life, loved and been loved.
But the painful times.
I was a Nurse too.
I’ve survived some rough times, and cared for people going through worse.
I can recognize that place in people now, and it’s the strength the comes through in the smallest gestures that inspires me the most.
