Faline Kelsey Salisburg, a 26 year old woman going on 60. She has a depth in her heart that beats to her own drum.
Passionate for realities of life and overcoming struggles, she has dedicated much of her life as an ED tech since the age of 18. Her background in healthcare is made mostly of time spent working in a level 1 trauma center where she spent much of her trial and error days; ready to do everything she can to save a life, whether that's compressing hearts or listening to the sad and the confused.
Seeing things she'll never un-see and gaining passion amongst the everlasting lists of choices humans face in their every day lives, as well as herself, she writes.
Caring for those on their worst day of their life,
ought her such levels of perception in the face of faith, hope, grief and pain.
She presently works as an RN in a little town, best known for its baseball hall of fame, Cooperstown, NY. Her ED chapter has closed and she now cares for the patients after surgical procedures. While she knows this is not where she will stay, she dives through her mind to sort out a place that answers her heart and screams to her this place is home. Through the challenges she faced in taking her exam, she took time off from healthcare to end one chapter and begin another. What she didn't know was this time off would give her a second chance to begin again. Singing hums and tunes has always been her way of healing her mind and allowing grace to wash over her experiences, and this time gave her the opportunity to do just that. And so she writes. Knowing the depths of how light shines through in the darkest of the hour, she has found Songbay, a safe space to create for herself and for the ones who will resonate.
