You know nobody told me
that this was the way that it was going to be
I never thought I'd feel
Stuck in a dream waiting for what is real
Well I thought that I would find
A moment when I would start my life
And the practice would just end
We'd go back to how it was then

And I'm still waiting
Though I'm pushing thirty
With more aches pains
And knees that hurt me
It seems like it'll never happen
But then I realized this
You know what?
It already is.

All the doubt and worry
Thought would disappear when somebody loved me
I'd find a job that suited me
I didn't realize that I'd get paid no money
A house would become a home
Didn't think for second I'd have to rent rather than own
I'd see the world once or twice
But I didn't bargain on the price

And I'm still waiting
Though I'm pushing thirty
With more aches pains
And knees that hurt me
It seems like it'll never happen
But then I realized this
You know what?
It already is.

It already is.

About Me

Bio

I'm an English songwriter/lyricist who has spent years accumulating a trove of lyrics. I began writing when I was 14 and made my way through a succession of bands and gigs before becoming a teacher in 2005. Now approaching my 40s I decided it was time to do something with all the songs and lyric ideas that I have been sitting on. I have written songs in several genres- folk, indie, country- but largely they are guitar based and driven.
