The Shepherds’ Song

Woken up by angels, the sky ablaze with light,
They came to share a secret that cold and frosty night.
It was the strangest story, but one that we believed,
A baby in a manger the message we received.
It frightened and amazed us that angels came to choose
A group of humble shepherds to spread the joyful news.

Chorus: So let’s play hide and seek friends, it’s wonderful to find
The One borne in a stable, the Saviour of mankind.

Warmly wrapped and lying upon a bed of hay,
We worshipped baby Jesus, and it was Christmas Day.
They wanted us to find Him, their message was so clear,
To tell a world that needs him ‘the Son of God is here’.
Now everyone can find him, He reaches out in love
No longer in a manger, but Lord in Heaven above.

Chorus: So let’s play hide and seek friends, it’s wonderful to find
The One borne in a stable, the Saviour of mankind.

The Shepherds' Song

We are children of our Father,
Born of grace, new life begun,
Living here but upward looking
Striving to be like His Son.
Ours to share news of His Kingdom
To a world that needs to hear,
Peace and joy are His to offer –
Love that casts away all fear.

Guided by His Holy Spirit
Walking with us every day,
Living lives that please our Father,
Ours to witness, watch and pray.
Share the message of salvation,
Singing songs of love and praise,
Bringing glory to our Father –
True to Him in all our ways.

The children of the Father.

Don’t Kiss Me Again.

I don’t want to see concern in your eyes,

Your pity for me, we’ve said our goodbyes -

Don’t kiss me again.

It’s too late to ease the hurt that I feel

Your kindness will tease my love that is real -

Don’t kiss me again.

Just walk away now, I don’t want to cry,

I’ll manage somehow, my eyes will stay dry -

Don’t kiss me again.

Chorus

Don’t kiss me again pretense is unkind,

I know we are finished, I’ve made up my mind

I’ll manage without you, my words should be plain -

I’ll find someone better to kiss me again.

Don't kiss me again

Yesterdays Dreams

The sweet dreams of yesterday I can’t forget
The first one I dreamed on the night that we met,
I loved you that moment and still do today,
And never imagined you’d wander away.

The sweet dreams of yesterday we couldn’t keep,
And one night you left me while I was asleep.
Why didn’t you tell me, or warn me somehow
That all of our dreams were just yesterday’s now?

The sweet dreams of yesterday I dream of you,
Although now I know they will never come true,
But when I feel empty and lonely and sad
The sweet dreams of yesterday still make me glad.

Yesterday's Dreams

Christmas Day

A star shining high in the darkened sky
a cold and frosty morn,
In a stable bright lit by candlelight
The Son of God is born.

In a field nearby glory fills the sky
An angel comes to say
‘I have news of joy for a baby boy
Was born to you today.’

Shepherds hear the song of the angel throng
to Bethlehem they run,
For the angel said ‘In a manger bed
Lies Christ the Chosen One.’

Hear the church bells ring and the people sing
the ancient carols play,
As we decorate let us celebrate
The joys of Christmas Day.
