Crocodile

Verse:
I see the smile in your eyes but it ain’t meant for me cause your looking right over my shoulder.
The lines on your face are the lies that you live and you’re starting to look so much older.
Those red painted lips you pout at the world only tell the truth tight shut together.
Your smile’s just for Facebook but it’s on upside down and I think it will be so forever.

Verse:
Those gullible bitches that lapped up your lies those shiny faced pouting pathetics.
More interested in handbags a clique of the bitter alone with their shallow aesthetics.
So wind back the hands of the clock if you want but you’ll never take us back in time.
You kept all that was yours in the box you created but you also kept all that was mine.

Chorus:
Now I’m walking the tight rope across this divide
Where once we crossed bridges together.
I’m holding my arms out to keep you away
Not trying to bring us together.
I’m not trying to bring us together.

Verse:
You created a story made up in your mind and we both know there’s nothing else there
The words on your flesh say that love is the answer but your heart is as see through as air.
So go sip your champagne with your blind sycophants and tell how you’ve been so maligned.
Keep an eye on the time though it’s fast running out and vengeance is best well-designed.

Chorus:
Now I’m walking the tight rope across this divide
Where once we crossed bridges together.
I’m holding my arms out to keep you away
Not trying to bring us together.
I’m not trying to bring us together.

Bridge:
Cry all you want to but both of us know.
A crocodile weeps only lies
Crocodile tears are just lies
So weep it’s yourself you despise
Just keep weeping and telling your lies
Keep weeping now this is goodbye

Chorus:
Now I’m walking the tight rope across this divide
Where once we crossed bridges together.
I’m holding my arms out to keep you away
Not trying to bring us together.
I’m not trying to bring us together.

Final Verse
The loss you have coming will be fundamental Karma’s just taking her time.
You stole something from me that cant be replaced I’ll take something from you as a fine
You can wish all you want to but it wont change what’s coming
The bullet’s been fired from the gun
Yes the bullet’s been fired from my gun.
The bullet to kill what you’ve done.
To kill that which you have become.

Crocodile

We met upon a summer day
Beneath a sky so blue
The starlings flew in summer skies
And I asked to dance with you

You breathed your name so gently
You asked me what was mine
The summer sun died upon the hill
But we did not mind the time

A month from then we took our vows
Upon the Lambeg Hill
The drums declared us married
And summer sun shone still

The starlings flew so high that year
We could not hear them sing
As winter came her nights were cold
Then we were blessed in spring

You called him Jonny just like me
We heard the starling’s song
Our boy was small and beautiful
And nothing could go wrong

But winter man came round again
To cover all the land
He brought a cough to curse us with
It spared neither boy nor man

The cough came to our Johnny
And we watched him waste away
We couldn’t buy the medicine
To take that curse away

The mills had closed-down long ago
There was no work to find
Johnny’s cough got worse that night
And my Maggie lost her mind

She took my gun into the night
Up to the Manor farm
She robbed the noble gentlemen
But she did not mean them harm

T’was on a winter’s morning still
The provosts came well armed
To take my Maggie locked in chains
To the jailhouse down in Larne

They sentenced her to leave the Isle
For life in Botany Bay
She told them she was sorry but
That price she’d gladly pay

I watched the ship sail from the shore
And carry you away
The starlings flew above the cliff
And the sky was cold and grey

I saw your face upon the deck
And held your eyes so blue
I called your name but you turned away
As I knew you had to do

Now Johnny often asks of you
And how his mother died
I hold him hard and close my eyes
To ease the pain inside

Johnny married and moved away
Had a daughter and a son
You’d be proud to see the man
Our boy has now become

Tomorrow dear tomorrow come
Tomorrow we’ll be free
The birds will all be blue my love
And they’ll sing for you and me

Tomorrow dear, tomorrow come,
And you will see our son
We’ll dance again that day my love
When they beat the Lambeg Drum

Tomorrow here, tomorrow’s come
Now you can see our son
Lets dance again today my love
As they beat the Lambeg Drum

We met upon a summer day
Beneath a sky so blue
Starlings flew into the air and
I asked to dance with you
