Hello! Leisha here, I have been writing poetry for 14 years now. I have always had the passion to write music. Now I am steeping out on faith and pursing what I love. What I write is from the heart and soul.
Chorus:
Let’s raise our cups to a good time. Living young and free, carelessly. Summertime all the time, parental advisory. Night bless us with a cool breeze soothing our sins. Sinking into the liquor, never wanting it to end. New faces turn into good friends, let’s take an oath and share it with the wind. We fall into a drunken sleep to wake with no regrets and do it all again.
Verse 1:
Carpe diem, let’s seize the day. Running rampant through the streets with pockets full of pay. No worries or cares just a cup full of jack. Smiles on our faces cause inside this bottle there’s no lack. A day full of sunshine, a night with clear skies. This moment can’t pass us by. Ooohhh it just can’t pass us by. Let’s drink with our heads held high. Jack warming my body, a great sensation that never fails to satisfy.
Bridge:
When the day is bright and the night is clear, let’s not waste what we have let’s hold it near. Cold ones on ice and food on the grill, friends around and laughter surrounds. Music blaring vibrating the ground. With all the drinks that I could put back, the only one I care about is my cup of jack.
Verse 1:
Eyes blue as the ocean, you keep me close to you (oooohhhh) you’re my potion, (of love). You love me tender, your heartbeat course through my veins at the speed of light. It’s at its purest form. I break it down, liquefy, I inhale and release. Our love comes at an increase set on repeat. Doubling back to the day we first met, attraction magnetic, soul engulfed in flames, the reaction of our exchange recreated the world, the big bang. The universe sang a simplistic melody recharging our souls.
Chorus:
The rush, tempo of my heart beat echoing in my ear, my drug of choice, my antidote.
When we met the stars aligned, the wind spoke our destiny into existence. Before my eyes I learned love to be true. Something more than a crush. Heat in the cool of my December days. In your hands, my life I trust. Your love makes my blood run crazy (oooohhhh) a rush of adrenaline…adrenaline.
Verse 2:
Mysterious and unique. A drug that cannot be beat. You set me on a high (keep away gravity). My mind flies, soaring through the skies at every thought of us. I fall in love twice. Once in the moment and the other with you. Forever young in this rush. Living life on the edge. My eyes glisten with euphoria, I took one hit of you and fell.
Verse 1:
She sits on a corner crying through her soul. She’s weary and weak, truth be told. Standing shyly on her own two feet, she stares into the mirror, heart skipping a beat. Mind
racing on repeat, room sits silent her body fills with heat, revealing her faults on her skin. Blank expressions written on her face, cold tears trap her, she’s outcast,
misplaced. She doesn’t know her worth, she leaves herself behind, her beauty is now undefined. Migrating thoughts, confusion invites itself in. She closes her eyes, inhales
and counts to 10, takes a few steps back praying not to give in to sin.
Chorus:
Phone is left on do not disturb, she’d rather be left alone. Spoken silence, her insecurities have left her dethroned. Body stripped with pain, guilt and defeat, growing
unknowingly, she’s a flower sprouting from the concrete. Life hard knock, time seems to disappear on the clock. A test of time within each breath.
Verse 2
Deep wounds, cheap booze, anything to erase the feeling of a loose. She tries to shake it away. The universe holds her secrets and releases them through the wind. She walks
alone praying, releasing her sin. Crying out to the heavens with her hands above her head (“I’m waiting on the day you take it all away”). Her heart blistered, she falls to her
knees giving in, sinking her fingers into the earth she listens for her destiny.
Verse 3:
Message received through the palms of her hands she fits hard to take her stand. Her being all scuffed up from life’s journey she has a soul on fire. A dark storm rest inside
of her feel the pressure through the ground, a diamond is sure to surface. Through her eyes her story told. Life hard knock, but what true beauty she holds.
Soul’s Cry
Intro:
Left in solitude, alone with my troubles. You vanished with traces of your being left behind. Footprints of your selfishness visible on my heart, how dare you make a fool of me. The wind whispers my pains around the world, I pray for the rain to wash them away. I pray for the day you come back to stay.
Verse 1:
Can you hear me. I need you to listen, take a step back and reconsider your decisions. Can you see me I need you to feel me. Place your hand on my heart and read between each beat. Do not ignore me. I am screaming out to you, for you to come back to me, I am supposed to be your equal but you’re treating me like a lesser half. Gravity pull me back down again, I float helplessly amongst the crowd. I slowly fade away as you continue to forget me.
Chorus:
Don’t treat me as if my existence is no longer. I need a sign, will you find your way back to me, (my love). The blood coursing through my veins feels numb, your image is now a silhouette burned into my soul, heartbreak please stay the hell away from me.
Verse 2:
My world crumbles underneath my feet with you gone, I sink into my sorrows, trying to piece myself back together. As you look into the mirror I’m there but you look right pass me. I know you are further than arms reach. You’re gone. This isn’t healthy for me, I leave with my hands full of tears and my eyes full of memories when times were simple. When I was free to be me on my own.
Chorus:
Don’t treat me as if my existence is no longer. I need a sign, will you find your way back to me, (my love). The blood coursing through my veins feels numb, your image is now a silhouette burned into my soul, heartbreak please stay the hell away from me.

Hello! Leisha here, I have been writing poetry for 14 years now. I have always had the passion to write music. Now I am steeping out on faith and pursing what I love. What I write is from the heart and soul.
I've been writing since I was in the 9th grade. I am now 28 years old. I have only read my poetry to close friends and family. My poetry is like a child to me that I have protected. Now it is time to set them free. I want to bless the world with my every being, which is my poetry. Writing has always been an outlet for for me. Consider me an old school pen and paper chick. I would wake up different times of night to leak my thoughts onto paper. I can also take others feelings and turn them into words that they struggle to produce. I am beyond excited to show my talent to the world.
