Intro
Yeah, Yeah, Oh Yeah (repeat various ways)

Verse
Trying to see my way in this world
Hell naw it ain’t easy boy or girl
Figuring what path I’m supposed to take
Concentrate on moves I need to make
Gotta build my own mansion brick by brick
Everywhere I turn hear the clock tick
Don’t you wanna do it big I ask myself
Never having to renege I tell myself

Chorus
Yeah I wanna be hard
I wanna play a part
Yeah I wanna be down
Like the baddest clique in town
I wanna live without fear
I wanna see crystal clear
Yeah I wanna know the truth
Bathe in the fountain of youth
Aw hell yeah

Verse
I see a line drawn in the sand
Should I stay or should I go plays the band
Seems there’s always a decision to be made
Who you wit’ there are dues to be paid
As I spit and ponder what is really real
If I quit will my family miss a meal
Looks legit so why question the reward
No worries about what I can afford

Chorus
Yeah I wanna be hard
I wanna play a part
Yeah I wanna be down
Like the baddest clique in town
I wanna live without fear
I wanna see crystal clear
Yeah I wanna know the truth
Bathe in the fountain of youth
Hell yeah

Bridge
Still looking for the Promised Land
See that day it better be grand
Milk and honey all I need for tomorrow
Never again will I have to borrow
Mount up on wings and fly
See the world from a view so high
Living life like a queen I bless myself
Accounts in the green stacks on my shelf
Chorus
Yeah I wanna be hard
I wanna play a part
Yeah I wanna be down
Like the baddest clique in town
I wanna live without fear
I wanna see crystal clear
Yeah I wanna know the truth
Bathe in the fountain of youth

Outro
Yeah I wanna be . . .
Cool

Yeah!

Verse
Yeah I see you rolling
Rolling through the streets
I see you with the top down
Your head bobbing to the beat
Looking in the mirror
Checking the rear view
Forget about the traffic
Because it’s all about you
Yeah I see you spending money
Without having a job
Chilling at the barbecue
Eating corn on the cob
Living a life of leisure
It seems time never ends
But the po-po’s are waiting
To put you back in chains my friend

Chorus
I think about you all the time
And how the streets have blown your mind
I’m so sorry you had a taste
Should have never seen the rat race
I think about you slowing down
And how you’re speed racing all over town
Trying to figure how much cash you can blow
‘Cause you can’t take it when you go

Verse
Heard your next door neighbor
Bought a brand new car
Got the dirt off your shoulder
Because you know who you are
Putting on your best face
Got your chest in the air
What it takes to make a dollar
You know you just don’t care
Everybody’s getting high now
You just picked up a pound
But if they kick in the door man
Your friends they won’t come around
You gotta stop speed racing
Because you’re moving way too fast
All fun and no consequences
Good things never last

Chorus
I think about you all the time
And how the streets have blown your mind
I’m so sorry you had a taste
Should have never seen the rat race
I think about you slowing down
And how you’re speed racing all over town
Trying to figure how much cash you can blow
‘Cause you can’t take it
You can't take it when you go

Can't Take It When You Go

Intro

Do, do, do . . .

Verse
My favorite time of year
The colors are so clear
Yellow, orange, red, and brown
Slight cool breeze felt all around
Beauty of change I see
New start for you and me
Harvest is oh so ripe
Giving thanks is just my type
Holiday season begins
For family and friends
We travel miles and miles
Ain’t no stopping us now
I still can see your face
Years never will erase
All the good times we had
So why am I so sad

Chorus
Whatever happened to autumn in Georgia
So tel me where do we go from here
I still remember autumn in Georgia
I used hold you, hold you oh so dear

Verse
Back to school everywhere
Mother in her favorite chair
Under the pecan tree
Pink hair rollers and sweet tea
Auntie is baking cakes
Just a few more leaves to rake
I still can hear the sound
Passing trains shaking the ground
Playing at grandma’s house
Too young to know her spouse
Memoriess flow through my head
Tears I begin to shed
Thinking ‘bout days gone by
Grow up, big girls don’t cry
Ooops, forgot to set the clock
Sleeping in my favorite socks

Chorus
Whatever happened to autumn in Georgia
Where do we go from here
I still remember autumn in Georgia
I used hold you dear

Autumn In Georgia

Chorus
Can you hear me now?
I'm putting you on blast
I hear you talking
Every time you hear my name
You better keep walking
Lurking out my window
I see you stalking
And every time you make your case
All I hear is barking

Verse
I hear you got something, you wanna say
But, I don't really give a damn; go 'head, have it your way
I hear you talking real loud, but you're saying nothing
And I can tell you're all frustrated; yeah, I heard you cussing
Don't try to act so hard, 'cause everybody out here thugging
And when its time for me to state my case; yeah, I see you mugging
So, let me say it again . . . I am the one to beat
And dare I say it one more time all haters, take a seat.

Chorus
Can you hear me now?
I'm putting you on blast
I hear you talking
Every time you hear my name
You better keep walking
Lurking out my window
I see you stalking
And every time you make your case
All I hear is barking

Verse
Now I hear you trying to spit game, Please get outta my ear
How come every time you come around, all I smell is fear
You might need to keep real cool. Tell me is everything okay?
Every time you try to make a move, oops that shit goes astray
So I better go heat my toaster, gotta keep the haters at bay
I think its time for me to cross over; and, yes I mean today
Maybe I have to say it loud just to keep the peace
'Cause it you can't hear me now, I'll unleash the beast.

Chorus
Can you hear me now?
I'm putting you on blast
I hear you talking
Every time you hear my name
You better keep walking
Lurking out my window
I see you stalking
And every time you make your case
All I hear is barking
(repeat chorus and end)

Can You Hear Me Now?

Intro
I used to be ashamed of crying
I used to be afraid to die
But now I’m not afraid of dying
And I’m not ashamed to cry

Verse
I used to live on a one-way going nowhere
Discontent in my mind
I wanted to know all the answers, but the questions
I just didn’t recognize
Coexisting in a fantasy
But really trying to slow down
Searching for a similarity
Hoping to turn my world around
But now

Chorus
When I cry
I cry
And when I die, well
Then I’ll be gone
After I’m long gone and I’ve gone home, aw
Just leave it alone and don’t take my dreams away

Verse
I used to worry ‘bout what mama taught me
And it consumed me to the core
It seemed with every fleeting moment
I was looking, looking for more
Kept on senselessly, constantly, longing
Wondering, wondering what was going on
Found myself turning and tossing
Helplessly trying to be strong
But now

Chorus
When I cry
I cry
And when I die, well
Then I’ll be gone
After I’m long gone and I’ve gone home, aw
Just leave it alone and don’t take my dreams away
(repeat)

Outro
Dream baby
Ready to take flight
Dream baby
Tell me
Where is home tonight

Don’t Take My Dreams Away

Hook
I got dues
I got dues, I got, I got dues to pay
I got dues to pay
I got, I got dues to pay
(repeat)

Verse
So many talk about be yourself
But what is really real, do you know the depth?
Will I be accepted for the things that I do
This has been on my mind for a decade or two
Too many questions rolling round in my head
Too many nights I toss and turn in my bed
I wanna do my best and follow good advice
But in order to get paid I must entice
Looking for someone to trust, man it ain’t easy
The Word warns about lust, man it’s so sleazy
I don’t like to pay up for information
Nothing is free especially education
Constantly investing my time, still searching
Trying to improve my rhyme, spirits lurking
I guess the heavens don’t want me to chill
They got some big shoes they want me to fill

Hook
I got dues
I got dues, I got, I got dues to pay
I got dues to pay
I got, I got dues to pay
(repeat)

Verse
Too many questions I say once again
Focusing on what message to send
Trying to be sure of who I want to be
Repeating myself hoping that you will see
I am who I am but I grow everyday
From the good I've learned I will not go astray
I may search for others with similar minds
But never will I leave my loved ones behind
I wish I could just be myself
But I wanna stack chips high on my shelf
I can try to be exciting so my songs will sell
I could try to tell a lie but I’m living well
Trying to be popular is so complicated
I ain’t trying to work that hard just to make it
I’m not sure where my career will go
Can’t figure which side of me to show

Hook
I got dues
I got dues, I got, I got dues to pay
I got dues to pay
I got, I got dues to pay
(repeat)

Bridge
It is really real, or all in my mind
How come you can’t let me be, let me stay on my grind?
Whichever path I choose long as it is mine
Whether right or wrong I’ll be doing fine
All the way to the end of this journey I’m in
If I don’t always do right please forgive my sin
Life is full of doubts and frustrations
So sick and tired of childish hesitations

Hook
I got dues
I got dues, I got, I got dues to pay
I got dues to pay
I got, I got dues to pay
(repeat)

Dues To Pay

Verse
Lord forgive ‘em they gon’ need a black suit
6 feet under, 21-gun salute
Never mind who we leave behind
I hope you get yours I got to get mine
Now let’s address this thing called “real music”
Next time I hear this I’m gonna lose it
So, if you think the music game is pure luck
You’ll find your dumb ass at the back of the bus

Hook
Here I am back again coming hard
Got a few words, “forget the noise”
I try to represent and stay on top
Everyday hoping something gon’ pop
Now everybody’s got a plan for me
Dumb-ass haters, can’t they see
Me and my man we tight as glue
If there’s a problem that problem is you

Verse
Now all my old friends is mad as hell
They say all the right things but I can’t tell
They live in a world called the past
Hoping every day the 80’s will last

Wake-up people get off the boat
Like 2016 you got to go for the throat
I know this music game ain’t what you thought
Prayed for a change and now you’re caught

Hook
Here I am back again coming hard
Got a few words, “forget the noise”
I try to represent and stay on top
Everyday hoping something gon’ pop
Now everybody’s got a plan for me
Dumb-ass haters, can’t they see
Me and my man we tight as glue
If there’s a problem that problem is you

Verse
Now it’s time to leave my calling card
You need to find me I’m in the 9th ward
Chilling, smoking, drinking red wine
Forget distractions, money on my mind
Don’t be mad ‘cause I did it alone
All my old friends are up and gone
When on the grind I need a clone
Yeah that’s my man now take me home

Hook
Here I am back again coming hard
Got a few words, “forget the noise”
I try to represent and stay on top
Everyday hoping something gon’ pop
Now everybody’s got a plan for me
Dumb-ass haters, can’t they see
