It’s the beats and rhythms that move us through life
As the ticking of the clock we navigate up and down around stress and strife
Learning to move with the cadence and pace
Living in this thing called life, can be a rat race
Sometimes we win sometimes we lose
Trying to Rap our minds around it gives us the Blues
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock

As sure as we need air to breathe, we need our heart to beat
It effects the pulse we keep
Steady and rhythmic keeping time
Like the music in life can systematically soothe our mind
Juke to Jazz and riffing Hip Hop
Hands on clock continue moving with life can’t stop
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock

The longer we live the more we see what goes around comes around
Look listen it’s here again hear the sounds
There is nothing new under the sun
Just like the beat, it’s already been done
Just time the loop we get in where we fit in often going along to get along
Marching to our own drum singing our own song
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock

There’s 7 days in a week 24 hours in a day
Time stops for no one as we make our way
Everyone’s days are numbered no one knows the count
Like the difference in beats and lengths of songs we all have bars with scars and various amounts
Ain’t no sense in sitting watching clock’s seconds hand
Make our own individual life story a melody with purpose and plans
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock

Sixty seconds in a minute a perfect measure
Sixty minutes equals an hour when added together
The seconds minutes hours from yesterday are forever gone
Gotta live for today keep moving on
For no one does time wait
Be on time don’t be late or procrastinate
I got my own life to live and own time to spend
We can’t deposit our time in the bank or gain interest before life ends
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Tick-Tock Tick-Tock

When time misused can be an enemy when managed properly a close friend
Like that friend who passes away we’ll never see that person or that gone time on this earth again

We see what they trying to do
Hustlers in ties and suits ain’t nothing new
Hiding behind the red white and blue
Worked way into government systems becoming more mobile
Swindlers, Scammers far from being noble
“(Grifters Gone Global We see what they trying to do
Hustlers in ties and suits ain’t nothing new
Hiding behind the red white and blue)”

Millionaire billionaire women and business men
Making their personal taxes disappear with stoke of pen
While we workers pay what’s due got less to spend
Got Lobbyist, petitioners and Loyalist worldwide who are their friends
“(Grifters Gone Global We see what they trying to do
Hustlers in ties and suits ain’t nothing new
Hiding behind the red white and blue)”

Even their female counterparts wearing business jackets and skirts
Playing same game while our financial pockets hurt
They keep getting more while we get less the more we work
Conservative con artists who deceive, cheat and shirk
“(Grifters Gone Global We see what they trying to do
Hustlers in ties and suits ain’t nothing new
Hiding behind the red white and blue)”

They do their dirt to stay on top
But lose their minds when stock market drops
The more they want the less we got
All this greed and corruption has got to stop
Somebody blow the whistle call a cop
“(Grifters Gone Global We see what they trying to do
Hustlers in ties and suits ain’t nothing new
Hiding behind the red white and blue)”
I’m bleed out feed up what the rest of us gonna do?

Grifters Gone Global

I’m at it again
It’s over can’t be more than friends
Time together has come to an end
I’m mixed up thought we were a perfect blend
She put me down and still keeps a grin
It keeps revolving this pain I’m in
Tried to break me I only bend

Time again back where I start
Drawn together can’t stay apart
Return to her with wounded heart
I’m being used I know it ain’t smart
Repeatedly trying do more than my part
She place brand on me with her mark
When I leave I always return
She got me hooked I guess I’ll never learn

I don’t know how it all went wrong
We seem to care about each other just can’t get along
She was the queen I guess I’m the pawn
Currently no more slow dances to love songs

I still must be under her spell
Head over heels for her I fell
I thought as a couple all was well
With her is Heaven without is Hell
I think this time we’re through, done, kaput only time will tell

I’m at it Again

We is you and you is me
Two is me and you
More than one less than three
A pair, us how it’s meant to be
Basic arithmetic not complicated math
One plus one connected on same path
A man and a woman with individual minds
Thinking and coordinating together locked and loving in time
We is You and you is Me

Like braided rope we’re intertwined
What’s mine is yours and what’s yours is mine
We is you and you is me
Like a pod with two peas
A couple of better halves together making a perfect whole
Two gems move valuable then silver and gold
No one can separate us can’t unfold
We is You and you is Me

No divide or subtract
I guard our front you got my back
We is you and you is me protected from any attack
Us working together on same page
We’re not like other people we’re top grade
I was created for you and for me you’re custom made
We have the best of each other how much better can it be
We is You and you is Me

We is You and You is Me

As I look at the man in the mirror
The years have passed as the image has become much clearer
He looking at me and me staring at him, the two of us have become much nearer

Decades before while viewing the image in the reflective glass
Now it’s many yesterdays the boyish images then has now passed
Life moves like the blink of an eye, I didn’t realize it was moving so fast

The man in the mirror hair is no longer black it has turned gray
We laugh with each other knowing we don’t have to wear a toupee
I’m thankful I get to see him one more day

That guy in that framed shiny reflective glass has seen a lot
As adolescence we gazed at each other trying to figure out who we were at that period in time and who we were not

At my current age I’m confident but humbly say looking and living is reality
The looking glass straight forward without reservations reveals to me that this quantum place and space I’m in ain’t no Alice in Wonderland or fantasy
The man in the mirror is real, it’s me!

The Man in the Mirror

Ain’t no party like a cabaret party
It’s late at night before it even started
At least 21 or you getting carded
Ticket in hand – already bought it

Music loud, thumbing and bumping
People drinking, dancing and jumping
Everyone out to have fun tonight
Women are fine, people act right
Two stepping, line dancing blinking lights
Hey single man – you might find a wife

People buzzing off liquor and wine
Get out your seats it’s dancing time
Move to this beat, it’s one of a kind
Ain’t no party like a cabaret party
Ain’t no party like a cabaret party, we party hardy

DJ on fire, keeping the beat
People sweating feeling the heat
Food is catered, plenty to eat
No foot patting sitting in your seat
Up from the table get on your feet

Two step, cha cha, doing the bop
Too busy dancing to watch the clock
Watching ladies and not my watch
Party hardy, cabaret party, party hardy, cabaret party

 Hearing the music singing along
WHEW---- that’s our favorite song
Get your groove on before you go home
Chatting up so you won’t be alone
Exchanging numbers for your cell phones
Hope to see you here another night
This cabaret party has been alright

About Me

Bio

I grew up in Germantown in Philadelphia. I graduated from Germantown High School and a few years later I attended Philadelphia Community College majoring in Graphic Arts. It was at this time that I determined I didn’t want to carry the typical black vinyl portfolio case and made my first leather project which was a custom made leather portfolio case. Over the last 40 plus years I have continued to design and craft various leather accessories, I am now a master leather craftsman. After spending 1 1/2 years in college, I left the Philadelphia tri-state area and enlisted the United States Air Force. I served 20 years and 2 months in the USAF retiring with the rank E7 Master Sergeant. During my 20 years in the USAF I lived in England 2 different tours totaling 5 years, also lived in New Mexico, South Carolina, Ne
aska with temporary assignments in northern Italy, southern Italy, Turkey and finally retiring from McGuire AFB. I have also retired from federal civilian civil service after serving an additional 20 years as a civilian employee. Numerous agencies served including 3 years as the first male to become a hand em
oider and industrial tabletop sewing machine em
oider making military organizational flags and United States presidential flags by hand for the Department of Defense. I have written my memoir book in poetic rhyming rhythmic format. I’m also working on a book that tells about the USAF career field I spent most of my twenty years in. The book is based on history facts, fictional and real characters and fantasy. I have won 2 consecutive years awards in Trenton New Jersey’s social justice contest as a spoken word writer and speaker on social justice.I am a poet, verbal and written story teller, and over the last almost 20 years I have used my visualization and graphic skills to record over 200 sermons while in attendance in what felt I was ordained to do while attending church services. I have named these drawings and hand written notes from sermons Scriptural Pictorials. I am considered a scribe by many and often called a 21 century Renaissance Man!
