Your Choice Today

I’m standing here today
I came from far away

Tears are in my heart
for a life we didn’t start
[instrumental]
Do you remember me?
I held you on my knee
You held your hand up high
and looked me in the eye

Well that was long ago
and how was I to know
that you could go so far
and I would lose my star?

I wait here at your door
rehearsed the scene before
Will you understand?
If I hold out my hand

Say stay, or do I go?
It's okay to tell me “no”
The choice I made back when
now yours today, so then …
[instrumental]
I’m standing here today
I came from far away

[verse]
I went walking
One fine day
Saw my baby
Out to play
I went up to her to say
You can't treat me
Treat me that way

She said - Uh huh?
That right?
Uh huh?
Is that right?

[verse]
When your baby
Fools around
That's a reason
To feel down
Justification
Sufficient ground

Uh-uh!
I said - Not right!
Uh-uh!
That ain't right!

[verse]
You go walking
One fine day
Take your baby
Out to play
Never give a
Cause to stray

Uh huh!
We said - That's right!
Uh huh!
That is right!

You go walking

Take your baby
Out to play
Never give a

Christmas time again, in a dream
Precious moments, a snowy scene
Have you travelled very far?
Did you catch a shooting star?
[instrumental]

Come together, take your place
In a warm inviting space
Here we gather, sit with me
By the fire-side and tree

[chorus]
Christmas time before
(time before)
Just like before
(like before)

[bridge]
Choir singing
Bells are ringing
Bringing in a
New beginning

[verse]
Come together, in your place

Here we gather, sit with me

Christmas Time Again

[Copyright 2025 Greg Fisher, Starland Publishing]

Jack Sprat could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean
So between them
Both you see
They licked the platter clean

Jack Sprat loved dessert
His wife preferred ice cream
They scoffed the lot
From a great big pot
Of chocolate vanilla bean

Would you like a little cheese
And crackers to go with it?
With butter spread?
A loaf of bread!
Now, that will be my limit

They were thirsty by this time
A jug of milk for two?
Oh, just a taste
We must not waste
That would never do!

Jack Sprat was feeling fat
His wife began to snore
He moved the cat
Off the mat
And slept there on the floor

About Me

Bio

Long time music fan, guitarist and songwriting enthusiast.

I write my own lyrics and provide my own music, unless I find a better melody and arrangement.

I use Suno.ai and choose a backing genre that fits the mood/ intent of the lyrics.

I need 3 unique elements to make a song, and it all comes together in the arrangement. I hope you like it.

CV/History

Guitar player since my teens, got into writing songs about 15 years ago, though it has only recently been possible with AI tools for me to create the versions you see here.
I write in english in a variety of genres (blues, country, pop, ballads, jazz, children's songs)
In my lyrics, I focus on the ease with which it can be sung, so I spend a lot of time on the articulation of the words, not just the meaning.

Very open to adapting lyrics or music to new uses.

Key Dates

Since I just started here at Songbay, more titles are on their way
