Verse #1:

I walk as far as you can see and
Reel you in then fall asleep
I can’t wait to be this certain thing and
All the smiles that it can bring when
Time becomes my friend again
Its siftin' through my feel again and
Life is just a show
Don’t blink cause it will go

Chorus:

uh huh ho
All of the time, think about
Everything
I’ve got all of the time
But still the truth
The truth avoids me
And I would not believe
Believe the truth, anyway
No I do not believe
Believe the truth
Exists today

Verse #2:

Did you see that firefly or
Were you off in your own sky well
What if it’s the little stuff that
Matters more then lifeless fluff like
Lookin in an awesome eye the
Window to, the soul I spy, and
Life is just a show
Don’t blink cause it will go

Chorus x1

Verse #3:

When I know where my heads at the
Ball and string will catch the cat and
Then I’ll know, its time to cruise Be-
fore I have, a chance to lose I’ll
Hit the road before I pack and
Check the map, when I get back cause
Life is just a show
Don’t blink cause it will go

Chorus x1

If you never walked alone you might not know
That you’ve been hangin’ on, to lies, that you’ve been told

And when you’re called upon to finally see your soul
Well all of them lies they’re gonna leave you, feelin’ cold

And if you listen to those who say ignorance is bliss
You know not of the devils that you kiss

But if you know the truth is gonna set you free,
Well, that sounds like, a better, way to be

And as we fill it up, we, drain it down
And the linear path, seems, to come back round
As I depart from the conventional
I’m seeking wisdom from, the human soul

And when I finally come, home
To the smilin' faces that I’ll see
To all of those, I know, still wanna believe
In the wonderful truth
No matter how far away
We get a little bit closer now, yes
Each and every day

When all of the real eyes
Come to realize
All of the real lies
And the truth no longer hides

You’re talkin’ bout me
And I’m talkin’ bout you
We should be talkin’ bout love and….
The wonderful truth

We should be talkin’ ‘bout love, we should be talkin’ ‘bout love, we should be talkin’ ‘bout love.

We should be talkin’ ‘bout love.

The Wonderful Truth

Verse 1:

Well I’ve got 15 minutes to find myself before I run out of breath there ain’t nobody else
Who’s gonna do this dirty job for me its my soul's responsibility

Chorus:

And what would you have done, what would you have done
If your belief structure burned down when you were young
And your fall was certain as the settin' sun
Tell me know, what would you have done?

Verse 2:

Well I live my life I try to do no harm but my demons come and cause some alarm
For my fellow man and my family too, they think there’s so much more that I can do

Chorus x1

Verse 3:

And I don’t need some authority tellin' me what, why, and how, to think
I’ve got personal accountability guidin' me much more than those who preach

Chorus x1

Verse 4:
So I read some books and I towed the line, hell I’ve tried everything at least one time
To get these chemicals right in my mind, but happiness I did not find

Verse 5:

Now I’m drivin' down this road alone singin' deep, dark, blue, melancholy songs
About a loveless man, far from home, who lost his mother when her faith was gone

And what would you have done, what would you have done
If your belief system broke down when you were young
And your Earth stopped revolving around it's sun
Tell me now, what would you have done?

What Would You Have Done?

Part 1:

My friends have grown and moved along
And my patina’s hue is showin' some
And I hate myself for knockin' down
My inner ghost
And his holy song

Cause I can sing
It’s just one of those, things
Most people don’t
Know about me
And I think
Unlike
Others
Think
But that’s something
Most know about me

Part 2:

Well maybe I could move along
If I let myself
Sing my song
And forego all
This industry
That’s zappin' all of my energy
Its not that I
Cannot compete
Its just that I
Won’t kiss the feet
Of those, whom I
Disagree
Its my fatal trait
And it’s killin' me
Well baby you know what I mean
Or maybe you
Fail to see
My issues with
Conformity
It’s the demon of society
That has too many square pegs
And too many round holes
And I swear that’s why
We lose so many souls
And there’s too many people
With
Too much to lose
To ever think
About changing the rules

Part 3:

Well now I’m lost in thought again
Not knowin' how
The story ends
But at least I got
Down in pen
The message
My ghost did send

That I should sing
About one of those
things
Most people don’t
Know about me
Cause I think
Unlike
Others
Think
But that’s something
At least that’s something
Isn’t that something?
Most know about me

About Me

Bio

I have written lyrics for many years but I have never collaborated with anyone...it has just been a hobby. They always come to me in the form of melodic songs but I am not a musician, I play some guitar but have never spent enough time to get good. I tend to admire artists on the alternative end of the spectrum that are highly original and creative. I would like to meet some talented musicians that can take some of my songs to the next level. My songs are generally introspective and about the search for truth and meaning in a world full of facades, dualities, and paradoxes. I guess some of them would be described as philosophical. While my lyrics can be deep and contemplative, they are usually very catchy and melodic...I am a sucker for melodic lyrics as long they are smart and meaningful.

CV/History

I am a project manager for a company that runs clinical research trials for pharmaceutical companies. I know, that is completely irrelevant for this website.

Key Dates

1990 - Wrote my first poem
1991 - One of my best friends who taught me about true creative genius, committed suicide

1993 - Wrote my first song
2003 - Unexplained surge in creativity that resulted in several new songs being written
2004 - Received my graduate degree in genetics
2014 - Used some software to create some music for portions of a few of my songs
2017 - Read a New York Times article about a secret government program that studied military UFO cases and saw that the person that ran the program believed we are not alone
2018 - Decided to finally try to get some of my songs into the hands of some talented musicians that might be able to take them to the next level - joined Songbay.
